ok guys im sure this has been touched on before, but im still not seeing it too clearly. im looking to try either Citrus Wash and Gloss or Citrus Wash Clear. what the HECK are the differences? from what the CG site says, CWC is derived from CWG. im looking for something that will also be capable of stripping LSP's at the right concentration. im thinking about just ordering both, but that just seems silly. lets get into it. :cig:
tropi-care just came out with a new citrus wash, it's worth checking out. shipping will probably be easier on you as well since they are located in texas. use 10offtc to get 10% off your order. JL's used it as well.
I've been using CWG to strip off LSP and it works, the problem I have encountered is that it tends to leave some residue behind, which creates hazing on my paint that can be spotted with the Infratech.
ive always wondered that. given the fact that its advertises it leaves that extra shine on your paint, i though that it would HAVE to leave some kind of coating or residue behind. i might go with CWC just because of this factor.
I personally prefer CWC, because it doesn't separate like CWG does...I like my soap in a gallon jug and I'm using 1 oz pump dispensers...I'd hate to be shaking it all the time...
The only difference between the two, is the CW&G has glossing agents in it that will be left behind. CW&C does not. Both can be used as maintenance washes or to strip LSPS, depending on the concentration used. Most prefer the &G for maintenance washes and the &C to strip prior to polishing.
CWG is stronger I've heard. Still, CWC is a good predetail because it doesn't have gloss agents and is strong enough to strip depending on concentration. Here's what you should do. Order from CG, CWC since you don't want the gloss layer messing with the LSP and ask them for a sample of CWG. I did this and they gave me a 16oz of CWC for free. They are truely awesome to work with. I wish I had some of either to give you but I used both of them haha.
Maybe someone can touch on issue. I've been using CW&C at 3-4oz per 32oz bottle with my AutoBrite foam cannon with the goal of removing the LSP, wax/sealant on the paint surface. After a thorough rinse of the car with a pressure washer, foamed w/ the above solution , left to dwell approx. 5 minutes, rinsed and then washed w/ 2BM with 1-2oz. in the 5 gallon bucket, I am still left with a beading surface. Now, recalling from a prior response I believe from TOGWT, the beading may/is a result from a clean finish, with no dirt/contamination that would normally break/descrease the surface tension of the paint. How do I really know all of the protection (wax/sealant) has been thoroughly removed. Are there additional tests/signs to look out for? Not trying to hijack the thread, but figured this could be something to add re: the CWC... :hjacker:
