I'm going to be correcting a 2002 MB S430 next weekend.
Doesnt it have the ceramic clearcoat?
Thats going to be tough with a D/A
    Pad/Polish/Compound combination suggestions?

MB started ceramic clear coat in 2005, that means if car was made in 2005 it will have ceramic, if its made in 2004 as 2005 then most likely it will not have ceramic clear. we did 2005 SL500 and it didnt had ceramic couse it was made in 2004

we used wool pad and 105 and it got everything out, but it was pretty hacked up. depends what condition yours wil be in. then we used mens 203 and orange pad to remove what 105 did.

    Lance,

I worked on a ML 350 a few weeks ago with my Griots and while the swirls were hard to remove, they were definitely removable. It took me two hits on a Griots orange pad with 105 to remove 65% of the swirls. This was fallowed by SIP on a Cyan pad which left a pretty good finish. I showed the owner, and he agreed that since its a daily I shouldn't go further (plus I only charged him $250 for a 3 step + interior on a SUV). You will need some time and patience but you will eventually break through that hard ass paint.

    My bad then
Well I was assuming it was the ceramic kind cause it was hard as hell to get out with 105/OJ pad when I tried it. I came to her house at like 12 in the afternoon and did a full detail on the outside and full inside (extraction, 3 stage leather etc) and at the end started polishing and went through 3 oj pads to do half of the hood......and that wasnt full correction either.

Thanks man. But as I said to Misha above ^ it took forever to go with 105/OJ. I might have to buy some wool pads or something.

What brand pads are you using. My CCS pads wouldn't dent the defects...also maybe the Pc just doesn't have the balls to remove them...I doubt that one though.

Yeah I was using CCS. But now I have Green and OJ Ubers. I gotta work with the PC though, as its the only correction machine I have. And she already payed me.....:gasp:

Cyan pads worked very well on the Griots for me. Obviously you don't have the time to order some now, but I have heard good things about the Ubers. I have about 30 CCS, and while they're good and I love them for my car and others...they seriously just soak up way too much product and get soft way too quickly for such a hard clear.
