So, those of us who are not doing this for a living, have you done your first full on detail of the season yet? I have kept up all winter because I have a warehouse, but this Sunday I will be going in and doing the full detail. Polishing, correcting, etc. I am really excited about spending some time behind the buffer again.
I havent done a full detail on my suv yet. thats going to wait. I did a wash and wax last weekend to clean up after winter. boy was it dirty. went all winter without a wash.
I have done one full detail on my car last weekend, and I have a buddies 350Z scheduled for April 10th and I'm stoked for it.
performed wash, clay, rewash, dry and poli-seal via PC w/ LC white pad on my brothers GMC Envoy last sunday. Nice AIO i tried out via family vehicles......
Nothing so far this season, both cars are still looking OK but the Explorer could use a light polish...
I washed our cars this past weekend and put a quick coat of optimum spray wax on them. Probably won't due a full fledged detail until it gets a bit warmer here Nice to see ya back too Tom!
Did a full last weekend on my own car when the temp got to 70 . This weekend is in question i have a bunch of people waiting for details but the temps don't look so good. 20's at nite 40's during the day.:yikes:
yeah the weather for this weekend looks crappy. and cold. plus calling for rain on sunday :shakehead:
I have three cars in April, I've done two details on friends' car last fall, one on my own, some practice on panels from body shop. Im traveling to MD with all my stuff in NJ. I took a week vacation just for this and chill with a few friends. Detailing cars is fun to me, my other job is a Audi technician, so im a car guy all the way.
I think I washed my car once all winter...I know, I'm bad. Been polishing the bike to prep for 3M & Tankslapper film.
3rd car of the season is coming in for full correction tomorrow.... Brand new, 2010 M3 in Jet Black.... YUMMM!!!
just booked the first car of the season. 2006 impala ss, in black. I take delivery of it on monday morning, and get it for a whole week.
I washed mine today.... thats about it. also gave it a quick wipe with some detail spray.. couple swirls oh well when the weathers nice ill polish it finally!
I recently re-did my protection, but I'm proud to say that I was maniacal throughout this whole winter about weekly washings (wheels outside, ONR inside). Unfortunately, all that washing has taken its toll on my paint and my car could use at least a one-step. I would like a week off from work to do a full polish, as well as a nice spring cleaning (under-carriage wash, wheel removal, engine cleanup, etc.). You guys seem to work extremely fast, it takes me so much time just to do a one-step polish on my car....that and I really hate polishing.
I hear ya buddy ... My car needs a 1-step, interior detail, and engine compartment cleanup. My wife needs a 1-step on the hood and a 2-step on the roof. I can't find the time to dedicate an entire weekend to do a detail on my cars. It breaks my heart spending all that time on car when I barely see my daughter during the week. I love detailing, but family is first. I can get away with doing a quick detail for a few bucks, but I spend so much time cleaning a vehicle, sometimes it's not even worth it. I am quoting a 4-door black jeep on Monday. I've seen the outside and I'm in for a treat. There are plenty of scratches but I think the owner just wants a good cleanup in and out, so I'm going with poli-seal on this one. The jeep has aluminum rims that haven't been cleaned in two years. I'm expecting to spend 2-3 hrs on those only ...:yikes:
