Who has it? Who has had the surgery? How long was your recovery? Any better? All better? Still have pain? I have it, looking into surgery. Dr. said 4-6 week recovery and no work. I just laughed, as I am 7 days a week. And with summer, I will work through the pain and wait until winter....(if I'm slow then) It's not a big deal to be "out" for that long, as I can work with my left hand and I have 1 temp employee and 2 part timers. One knows the 'majority" of the ins and outs so letting him take on most of the work won't be a problem. Plus I will be there at all times doing what I can. In the process of putting together another detailing rig to run 2...but if my main guy is going to be running out of my van, it will have to wait til next year...... Oh well, it'll all come together.:thumb: Anyways, any insight is appreciated... :graduation:
yeah i think phil went and gotten acupuncture treatment I am going to have carpal tunnel real soon too because of the nature of computer science
I've had it the last 2 summers from detailing. I wear the wrist braces and stretch out my wrists when it comes on.
i get it pretty bad from time to time. it tends to wake me up when im sleeping for some reason. usually once per correction im good for having shooting paint in my right forearm to the point where i cant grip anything for a minute or two. havent really looked into having anything done about it yet, but im looking for a good wrist brace solution. richy what are you using?
Billy, here's a pic of me with both of mine on. That was taken in August. By the end of the season it's usually worse.
Not sure if it's against forum rules, but Richard Lin at BlackWOW sells this thing called one grip. May be worth a look if you want to prevent carpal tunnel/help with the symptoms while detailing.
I had carpal tunnel surgery done to my right and left wrists, I had more surgery done to take the pain out of my right hand fingers. Cant remember how long I had to wait; but they wrapped it and said come back in a week I think, and they took it off. I was Detailing the next day. It was so nice to get rid of those shooting pains in my right and left forearms. No more pain. All gone, never came back, etc.. The other surgery on my 1st, middle, and ring fingers was easy, but the recovery took way longer than the carpal tunnel; The Surgeon said for some reason, those fingers just take longer and they took over a month and a bottle of Vicodin, which really didnt do anything for me. I found better relief from Aleve gel caps. I now have to find time to do the finger surgery to my left hand, and Im not looking forward to it since I now know how long it takes those boys to recover. Wore all kinds of braces, etc., before I had these surgeries. Now I have a drawer full of them that Im going to give away next time the truck is in our neighborhood. Went to a team of Hand Surgeons, not through my local HealthCare Dr... Lucky for me, my wife's health plan paid for almost all of it. The surgery itself is basically locating the carpal tunnel that has the blockage, and cutting a slit at the end of it, to relieve the blockage which causes the intense pain, and then the tendon can move freely through the tunnel and the pain all goes away. This is aiso the same surgery I had to have for my fingers, as they were having the same problems. Didnt do any therapy, just used my rotary like nothing changed, and it healed up just fine. Anyone from Seattle ? I used Seattle Hand Surgeons. Dan F
I've used it before on one occasion, but didn't really like the way it felt with the machine, personally. I know Richard uses it pretty often, he basically came up with the idea because he also suffers from carpal tunnel.
I wear a brace some times when I work. It seems to do nothing but get in the way. I'm in the process of building some detailng equipment that will help as far as bottles are concerned....
