Guys ... I am thinking about getting a newer vehicle. I have a budget of 10-15k tops. I've been thinking about getting a sedan ... nothing too small 'cause I'm a big guy (6'3" 275lbs). I'm looking for something with decent gas mileage and reliable. These cars have caught my attention: 1. Altima SE-R 2. Accord 4dr V6 (6-speed) 3. Camry SE Any other suggestions?? I wouldn't mind getting the Accord, but I have owned 4 Accords in the past and I want to drive something different. The Altima SE-R is on the high end of the budget scale, but I really like it. I'm kind of concerned about the reliability of the 3.5 engine though. I have heard about a lot of oil consumption issues. The Camry SE ... it's a vanilla car, but they last forever ... even though the brakes might not last that long ... lol. TIA, G
That's another car that I forgot to add to the list ... but I'm worried about turbo maintenance though.
Lincoln LS You can pick up an 06 for around 13K. Of course, I'm biased. I've loved the looks of that car since they came out in 99 as a 2000 model. I own a 2000. If you want to mod, probably not the best option. NO aftermarket for these cars. But it's a nice ride. comfy, and sporty. It's pretty nimble for a 4 door mid size sedan. Interior leather feels better than a BMW 5 series (the LS's was made to compete with the 5 series).
Change the oil every 3000 or so and you'll be good. I beat the hell out of my turbo every day and it does alright
Yeah ... I can't find anything decent ones around my area. I also like the mazdaspeed 6 but it's out of the price range. You guys don't understand how much I hate shopping for a new car ... I'm a car nut that likes a lot of different models.
go with the altima the coupe is sexy, but i know thats probably not an option with your little girl the accord is nice looking but you might get tired of it and camry is just blah even with the new design
I vote for the Accord. Between me and my family, we've owned every generation of Accord since 1992 and I loved every one of them for their solid reliability and high "fun to drive" factor. Don't choose the Camry. If you've driven Accords for a long time, the Camry will feel absolutely boring.
My vote would go with the Altima. The Accord is nice, but I just feel that the interior is sub par to everything out there, so bland. Who wants to drive around in a car that makes you sad. The Camry is nice, but its just so ho-hum for me. If you could afford a new one then that would be a different story, but then so would the price.
I have owned (3) 91s and leased an (1) 06 model. I really like accords, but they are everywhere ... the only accord that is rare is an 4dr V6 with a 6speed. I'm trying to locate one right now and I haven't found a decent one yet.
Between me and my wife, we've owned a 92, 94', 00' and we currently own an 07'. My wife liked the 00' best because the controls were simple and it "fit her like a glove". Her words. Personally, I love the 07'. I think it's one of the best looking vehicles on the road and I love the power and the steering feels perfectly weighted. I understand where you're coming from though. Selling around 400,000 a year and having bulletproof reliability, you're bound to see loads of them now and in the distant future. I satisfied my need for individuality by adding a set of O.Z. Superleggera rims to our Accord! I also replaced the rear anti-sway bar with one from an Acura TL Type-S. :thumb:
I hear what you're saying about having something a little more distinctive. That's why I went with the FX35. 6 years later and there's still not too many of them on the road and I still get looks in the car. I like the new MKS but already I see so many of them. That's why I am going to look hard at the new Hyundai Equus when it comes out. There will be very, very few of them around here.
I'll keep searching ... Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll be posting pics whenever I decide to take the plunge ... it was nice not having a car payment for a while.
2006 G35! Under $15k easily, reliable, sporty, elegant + the 300hp 3.5 V6 My dad wants to get a 2007, but the 2006 saves a lot of money.
My neighbor has an 06' G35. Very nice indeed, but I think the latest generation looks more elegant. But your right, of course. None of them will be under 15K. Well, you probably could find one if you look hard enough, but I doubt it would be in any kind of condition that you would be happy with!
