The Street Dreams post started me thinking about what I'd want in the way of a car collection if I had the funds to afford it. and I'm curious as to what you guys would pick. Just to keep it manageable there are, however, some limitations: 1) Maximum of eight vehicles total and this includes your daily drivers 2) You don't own or live within one hundred miles of a race track but otherwise racing cars or limited license cars are legit picks 3) You don't magically get mad driving skills with the cars, owning them doesn't turn you into a Schumacher, Stewart or Fangio. My personal list, at least for today: 1) There has to be at least one Ferrari. I think I would probably pick a 458 even though I think proper Ferraris really ought to have a V-12. 2) There also has to be a Porsche. I think I'd opt for a 959. 3) I'd want at least one BMW and since I believe that Bimmers ought to have an inline six I'd choose the 1 Series M Coupe. 4 & 5) For pure driving fun I think you can't beat small, light, low and preferably open. I'd have both an Aerial Atom and Caterham (or maybe a Westfield) 6) Audi R8. I liked this car far better in person than I thought I would. 7) Audi B7 S4 Avant because sometimes you need a station wagon. 8) I figure I'd want something at least semi-environmentally responsible and practical for running errands so I think I'd pick a Ford Focus hatchback (with the MT of course). I was tempted by a host of pre-1980s cars including the Jaguar C & D Types, the Mercedes-Benz 300SL gullwing coupe or 300SLR racing car, the Auto Union C or D and various pre-WWII Alfa Romeos, Bugattis, Delahayes, Bentleys, Auburns, etc. but given the primitive brakes, tires and suspension on these cars I figure the chances of killing myself if I ever attempted to go fast in one are fairly good. Given the opportunity to add more cars I'd probably add some of those cars as well as a late '60s Super/Stock from Sox & Martin or Dick Landy and probably a 1960s or early '70s Ferrari or two.
umm really hard to list anything super specific. Ariel Atom. I wouldn't mind an Original 1965 AC Cobra 427. Not that kit-car crap. A 2002 honda s200 in Sebring Silver. (used to have one) A honda s500 or s600 fully restored. not sure what else, but I could care less for those high-end modern day supercars, like Ferraris lambos or p-cars. I like older japanese cars. Like early 90's or earlier.
