Even I know that most of that is wrong. I'm still learning but at least I know enough not to tell other people what to do (except that they should check out this forum)

For starters telling a beginner to use a polisher not a DA?

"Technique Tip: Wheeling is a messy process, so cover items "

" Rinse the vehicle thoroughly but do not dry it."

" Use softer pads and polishing compounds on dark-colored cars, as they are especially sensitive to swirl marks. More-aggressive compounds and pads can be used on lighter hues."

" apply an approximate 60:40 mix of paste wax and a fine finishing polish onto the pad. "

it would be funny, except I'm guessing at some point in time the pros out there are going to encounter people that read it and will go "I know exactly what you are going to do" or worse "you are doing it wrong"

Do you really heat up the clear coat and move it around?

With a rotary you can get the paint pretty hot at times, there is our friend in Australia who "Re-flows the paint" maybe he was the "Tech advisor" for these gems of wisdom for the article.

If you do it the way this article recommends and heat the paint, it will move.... right off the car.

I do agree with two pieces of advice from this article: "Move the car into sunlight for a final inspection. Crack a cold one and enjoy."

I was going to post this article up last month but I had trouble getting in-focus pictures of the article.

Who wants to write in to their "Backfires" section? - otherwise I will.

Post a draft here. Maybe we can get a collaboration and send it in with the backing of the entire forum.
