Does anyone know good places online to buy cd's, other than ebay and half.com? I am looking for hard to find stuff (no mainstream music really). I have had some luck on the 2 aforementioned sites, but some stuff isn't exactly commonplace. Chalk it up to my taste in music making it difficult, but hey, I'm different. So isn't some of the music I listen to. I am not one to pay for downloads, as I like to actually own the item. I am a collector of sorts, but not for monetary reasons. This has been my one true obsession, more than detailing or anything else. I even still buy vinyl once in a while So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, -Roger. bestbuy, amazon, etc are not wanted. they carry shit, and not what I am looking for. something along the lines of ebay and half, where they have a very large range in music.
CDBaby : Discover Music carries a lot of smaller, local-type bands. They're worth a look. I've bought a lot of music off them. They even offer digital downloads!
beat me to it, lifemal. I actually prefer buying from cdbaby whenever possible, because the artists retain more of the profits.

you are a good man, i am the same way (i have lots of vinyl that bring back memories of going to shows when i was younger). when you download (especially illegally) it's not the same as owning the CD/LP itself, as it is the total completed work/project of an artist/band who display their hard earned work through not only the music, but artwork, lyrics, poems, stories, etc, ... :thumb: it's also a shame these days there aren't many record stores as downloading has put them out of business (right when napster hit and then on). i like the old days when you go to a show and people converse and pass out flyers and what not and talk about what's going on. now, the internet has made people lazy and you don't get in touch personally anymore. :crash: :shakehead: depending on the label/artist, some will include a mp3 download code of the whole album when you purchase the LP or will include a CD version inside as well. more labels should do this these days...
