Any advice on what pads to get? I have 4" pads only and I know they will not work with a Flex so I need a new assortment of pads. Any other good tips, words of advice or caution with the flex?

Get ear plugs cause that thing makes a very high pitch sound.

There's a problem with the felt ring needing to be lubed and and glued down or something, check the Flex section of this forum.

That's the old style. And was attributed to excessive user (operator) pressure. I've never had a problem with either of my flex's. Quality machine.:thumb:

I use everything from 5" to 5.5" to 6.5" with my 3401. I was lucky enough to get one of the very few 5" BPs from Powerhouse Distributing a while ago, and while it really doesn't leave you any overhange with the pad, it does allow using 5" pads in certain circumstances. For a little extra bite, I'll go with the 5.5" pads. If the car just needs a light cleanup with some minor swirls, then I'll use 6.5" with the standard BP or the 5" BP. I'm usually too lazy to change it and mainly leave the 5" one on. When applying sealants, I always use a LC red 6.5" pad which has always worked well for me on the 3401.
