Honestly for the interior windows I use water and 2 good MFs, one to clean the gunk of the window and get dry the windows <- Interior For Buffing, it's best to get a practice part like door, hood or trunk lid..or have a beater vehicle to practice on. Start of a slow speed to spread around, then build it up unit you've reach the max speed, do a few passes, wait for the polish to get real oily looking and then slowly bring it back down to refine. There's ton's of UTube vid's on this subject.
I wasn't including claying in this package. It's priced at $150 to $180 depending on the car size/ state of clean. I have not used Meg's D151 yet but am planning on getting it. DO you think I should clay? I offer clay at an additional $25 because its very time consuming
Oh alright. It's totally up to you if you want to include it in this package, I would especially since you will be doing some very light correction work. And the Griot's is an awesome machine, I got one and love it.
What do you think of the Meg's D151/ What uber pad should I use? I love the griots too, I love the handle on it especially a lot better then the Porter Cable
I'm using it because its said to be a cleaner, a wax and a polish. Usually I'd just wax the car but for a similar price to just a gallon of wax I can do more then that. So as I am trying to get some correction out of it, I would probably use higher end products if I was trying to do paint correction ... M105, M205, Menzerna P085RD, Menzerna Sealant.. This is my next purchase to learn on my car haha
That's pretty cheap. I am claying, sealing, and waxing a buddies 4 door Chevy Silverado for $200 tomorrow...shouldn't take me more than 7 hours. If I break out the PC, it's a min of $260 for a 1 step depending on the size/condition of vehicle. I do this on the side from strictly word of mouth/friends so if you plan on making a business out of it you either better be doing 1 car a day at that price or plan on raising your rates.
How much business are you getting just by word of mouth? Mine usually takes me 1.5, 2 hours max. Good quality work. I've had a lot of success with these rates. Do people ever get turned off of detailing because of too high of rates or do you think if I raised my prices it wouldn't change anything?
I used D151 with a Green and Orange uber on a car and it removed some minor defect....... its great for one step get them in, get them out details. That is why I bought it, im tired of wasting good expensive products on clients who don't really car about correction, but " I want to give them something better then clay and wax" type senario.
D151 is very reasonable, and yields very good results. I just got tired of doing 1 step polishes then waxing for someone who didn't care, and was selling the vehicle or just wanted it "better" then before. Price is very reasonable for a gallon, and I recommend it.
