Yeah - the HD ones are like $5/ea. The grit guards are like $12/ea at most places.

Lowes buckets and the grit guards from US plastics or Detailers domain...........a bucket is a bucket!
also if you want a poor mans caddy, go to lowes and get the planter bases, basically its a platform with small casters, works great and runs about 5.00 each depending on what you get.

I agree that a bucket is a bucket, but so don't allow the grit guard to fit down to the bottom without some cutting. That is what I ran into with my Advance Auto Parts buckets.

yeah, some are pretty tight. Best ones I have found are the red buckets at Pep Boys. I know the lowes buckets the grit guards sit half way up....

I have 2 versions of the buckets from Pepboys. The older ones I bought 2 years ago fit the GG nicely. The newer ones don't fit a damn. It gets stuck halfway. I just use those buckets for wheels and storing used mf towels.

US Plastics has 5 gallon white or black buckets for $4.26 and re-usable lid's (black only) for $1.30.

funny because one of my lowes doesn't fit, the other does LOL

Only bucket that works perfect is the one I got from Autogeek with the gamma seal and GG. When I am done with washing I put the lid on it and its good to go for the next car.. less waste.

Thanks for the info, can someone tell me the diameter of the grit guard so I can measure the bucket to make sure it fits, also someone told me that you can use the egg crate grilles for suspended ceilings what do you think of those?
