Fellow NASCAR fan recently picked up a Boss 302 Mustang and contacted me for Opti-Coat. He was also interested in getting the interior protected as well. I was more than happy to take care of this one being that this one seriously cool car.

Started with my 2 bucket wash, Ironx, clay routine. quick foam photo

IronX and clay didnt pick up very much. Did I mention only 290 miles on the clock?

Blew a ton of time and masking tape protecting all the trim and exterior vinyl graphics. Had to be real precise around the edges too

Got to inspecting the paint and found healthy readings all around (most 130-150 microns). Very light swirls that were a bit hard to capture with my point & shoot. Basically it looked like this throughout

Got to work and found this paint to be a bit on the hard side. I was getting where I needed with LC Tangerine & Menz Power Finish.

Here I am polishing the lower portion of the door. Used M205 with a white pad down there. This is why I like to keep my floor clean

Took longer than anticipated but eventually everything looked right. Then I had the pleasure of ripping all that tape off and making a big ball out of it

Prepped the surface with CarPro Eraser then protected everything with Opti-Coat. That included all of the exterior vinyl decals. Did a test spot the night before and found it did not change the appearance at all although it did have sort of a matte appearance

Took it outside for final inspection and some glory shots in the sunlight

Forgot to mention that somewhere in their I jumped inside and protected all the carpet & Recaro seats with 303 HTFG. All interior plastic dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant

Client was thrilled as was I with the results.

I finished at 4:45pm. Pick up at 5:15pm. Most people would probably rest after a long day. But I had bought tickets months ago. Scrambled around and literally ran to catch my 6:20 train to NYC. By 9pm I was raging to the sounds of Excision, Vaski and Paper Diamond live at Best Buy Theater in Times Square because Mr. Sparkle runs on bass music. But you'd probably know that already if you were following me on the instagrams @mrsparkledetailing

Did you do a normal wash process on this even with the matte finished stripes? Will that cause any problem?

appreciate the love in the DB forum!

actually there are 4 mufflers on the car so its a bit toned down. 2 exit under the car near the doors. with that said, I didn't go past 5mph in & out of the garage so I can't really give a legit opinion on that
