This client was referred by another long time client. Upon inspection, the truck didn't look that bad. After the week I've had, I should have known better.

Engine and jambs cleaned with Autoglym Powermax3
Foamed with citrus cleaner / CG Maxisuds combo
    Washed with CG MaxiSuds
Inner fenders, tires & wheels cleaned with Autoglym Powermax3
    Spot clayed with Claymagic Blue.
Polished with SIP on green CCS and followed up with PO85RD on black CCS
    LSP today was Colli 476s
Tires dressed with Blue Dew tire dressing

    Total time 17.5 hours

    Looks OK from here

Interior was very clean, now I know why.

Most of what looks like dirt here is actually overspray. More to come!

    Even more polish residue

Turns out he just had the whole vehicle painted and before the bodyshop returned his vehicle, they were nice enough to have the lot boy mop it with a wool pad!!

You can't tell from the pic, but these are actually sanding marks under the paint. The basecoat is sinking so they are visible all over the truck but can't be rectified as they are under the clear.

A little overspray on the sunroof!

    and in the jambs...

Yes I did Pat. Just came in this week. I'll be playing around with the stuff this weekend. Thanks!

Unfortunately there was so much overspray in the jambs (you couldn't tell how much from the pics) that it as soon as you opened a door, any door it looked like crap. Bit of a letdown. Thats just me though, the owner didn't even notice it until I showed him! :yikes:

I lost my ass on this one only because I didn't know it was a respray until I started on it. The SIP / Green CCS combo cleaned everything up no problem but being a respray the paint was softer than factory and needed the PO85RD to clean up the holograms. On factory paint, which is baked on and typically provides a harder finish, that combo doesn't leave holograms and I go straight to LSP this time of year. So he got an extra day out of me no charge.Thats ok because I've got his modified Audi A4 coming in as soon as my shop is up and runnung.:thumb:

Incredible job on an incredible feck-up! He should have paid you for all your time and then billed the assholes at the body shop. Your comment about the boy mopping the paint made me fall off my chair!! :applause2:

He's now a regular client with two cars and money burning a hole in his pocket. Don't worry, I'll get my money! LOL

Incredible work...I especially love the 50/50 shots of the hood ;)

I see you also use the Makita without a handle...Do you find the head of the machine get's really warm after extended use or does it only seem to happen here in our warmer (30°C) climate ?

hey you took the handle off! Doesn't the silver part of your polisher get really hot? Sometimes, it's hard to hold onto my hitachi even with gloves on there

I hate that damn handle. Holding the head gives you way more control - thats why Metabos are designed like they are. Yes the head gets hot but not uncomfortably. I spent 6 hours per day two days in a row polishing this thing and the head never got so hot I had to put it down.

911 you do some mighty fine work. I feel your pain about the imperfections under the clear coat. Not a lot of really good body shops in my area and I encounter this a lot! Really makes it frustrating, but you still did an incredible job. You have me wanting to try out the Autoglym lineup!
