Hello once again. I was asked to try and correct the finish on a beautiful BMX X3 that has obviously been “corrected” by one of the many “Pro detailers “ cropping up everywhere. Thankfully the owner has taken great care and other than the mess left from the inexperienced person with the machine polisher it was in not too bad a condition. First onto the wash and decontamination stage. First, our new product, Iron Cleanse was used to remove any bonded Iron contamination from the wheels. Next, the wheels were sprayed with our safe wheel cleaner left to dwell for 2 mins then cleaned using various brushes. Finally the wheels were sprayed with Tar Gel to remove any bonded tar. Now for the body. First we pre-foamed the jeep with Orchard Autocare citrus prewash and left to dwell for 10 mins whilst we got everything sorted. Once rinsed off then I applied a good coating of one of our new snow foams:- Cotton Candy to give a thick covering ready to wash using wool mitts and 2 bucket method with our trial shampoo. Once washed then it was time for Iron Cleanse on the body followed by Tar Gel to remove as many bonded contaminants as possible prior to claying. Clay stage was Bilt Hamber soft clay with clay lube. Even with all the preparation this was the clay after on panel!! Today we are using the Meguiar’s Microfibre system to enable us to get a decent level of correction in a short space of time. Bellow are a few pics of the cutting pad. Now time to roll in the X3 to see what we have to contend with. As you can see there are buffer trails all over the place and even a few plastic burns where they have not taped up properly. Doesn’t look too bad! Now look again!!!! Once corrected using the microfiber pads, we changed to the rotaries and refined using Megs 205 on a 3M yellow waffle pad. Once corrected the X3 was coated in 3 layers of Zaino Z2 Pro with ZFX enhancer, between each coat it was wiped down with Z6, then finally with Z8. Once left to sit the whole X3 was covered with Clear Seal. The interior was cleaned and plastics treated with Orchard Autocare interior wizard leather cleaned and conditioned . Wheels were waxed using Orchard Autocare wheel wax . Tyres were dressed with Megs, Endurance Tyre Dressing. And now for the afters: Thanks very much for reading and as usual, all C&C are welcome. Thanks, Rollo:thumb:
