Just completed today 10-1-2011, this was a Euro delivery and the client said the experience was something he and his family enjoyed thoroughly. Much less defects as opposed to your local new car delivery, there was some slight issues with the top surfaces of the car with some bird drop etch and tree sap welts. Client dropped the car off and I ran him home, then returned to the shop to do a wash/decon. Car was brought into the shop and work began. Some of the defects mentioned on the hood. Tree sap welts. After compounding step. Rubber trim was already showing UV damage. 50/50 shot of the trim cleaned before dressing was applied. Entire trim piece cleaned. Random marring on the rear bumper. After compounding and first polishing step. Engine bay was not bad at all, a few water spots and dry areas. Last of the 8 cylinder M3's, engine after cleaning. Love this color, have not seen many in this metallic red finish. Beading shot to show protection. Removed the "Euro plate" and polished in this area as well. Installed the USA plate set up. Removed the German inspection stickers on the glass. Attending to the "Small details" edge of the glass(Pet peeve of mine).
Did not look to thrilled with the stubborn grease on the drivers window..........but I prevailed and removed the offending substance. All done. Wheels dialed in. Interior pics. Late afternoon delivery so no sun pics, so LED & Infratech pics to suffice. Delivered and heading home.
Car is looking good now. Good job. Most of the new 3-series here in europe get a white foil on the paint, to protect it from getting defects during transport, when it's shipped from the production facility - this M3 didn't have that? The M3s and 3 series (e90/e92) I've seen, including my own DD 3-series diesel, had an almost defect free finish - pretty nice that one doesn't have to start out by removing sanding marks, swirls etc. like on Ferraris. Kind regards, Ebbe
Im not the biggest fan of red but this makes me reconsider, excellent work as usual. I do have a question though, do you take pictures for your own use or do you give them to clients in a portfolio as a keepsake?
You made that color justice ... 4-door M3's are awesome! I have talked to a couple of people that have done the European Delivery and all of them have enjoyed the experience and saved a considerable amount of money.
