Have been looking through this and a few other forums getting the knowledge to do my first detail. I had been applying turtlewax original polish and extra gloss protection and wasn't overly impressed with the results, I ordered some Duragloss products and tried it on one of the doors to see what it was like, when I came to fully detail the car, I noticed that when I was washing it that the only panel that was beading was the one with duragloss on is, the turtlewax treated panels were all flat.

    washed and dried,
    clayed with meguiars quik clay,
    taped up,
machine polished using a Menzerna 135 mm Compounding Pad & Menzerna RD3.02 polish
machine polished using a Menzerna 135 mm Finishing Pad & Menzerna 85RE polish
applied coat of Duragloss 601 polish bonding agent
applied coat of Duragloss 111 clear coat polish and buffed off after 2 hours
applied coat of Duragloss 105 total performance polish
alloys and tyres done with wonder wheels
black plastics give a little back to black
exhaust tail pipe done with autoglym metal polish
    glass given a quick clean.
tape was removed at end of polishing stage and the car was given a final wipe with microfibre cloth before starting her up and going to take some photos.

The before pictures arent great sorry.

looks great, good job on the wheels, from what I understand, BMW wheels can be a PIA to clean.

What was up with the little pieces of tape everywhere??

Hey there, thanks for you comments, the little pieces of tape were where there were imperfections on the cars bodywork either scuffs or little scratches, was just so I could find them when I came to buff as dont have any special lighting.
silver doesnt reflect very much and its even more difficult to capture any reflections on camera, but it does look good in the flesh so to speak.
