I was on properautocare and they offered some products for scratch resistant clearcoats called Blackfire. I read that this product was a joint-venture with Menzerna and from what I understand Blackfire product allow longer work time, but how effective this this compared to the original Menzerna products? I rather have something work fast then to work on it longer. Do you guy think blackfire is a water down formula of Menzerna products made to be affordable for the consumer based market? Have you guys tested it? Should I even try it?

I believe Menzerna makes some products for CMA up to their own specs. I believe that BF SRC is the same as 106FF or close to it. IIRC

Calling BF a watered down version is probably not fair but I'd stick with Menz b/c I love it or maybe try the 3m superfina. Just my:2cents:

Can't say I've heard much about the Blackfire porduct, I've seen it around but never paid much attention to it  I had heard that Menzerna was involved with Blackfire but that's about all.

If anyone has tried it, I'd love to hear some feed back.

I've used the Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish quite a few times (via PC or UDM, no rotary unfortunately).

IME it works pretty long, cuts decently for a finishing polish, and has some light to medium dusting. The finish left is top notch, among the best I've seen. Many say it's rebadged 106FF.

I would go with Menzerna (PO106FF) in this case instead of Blackfire. 70/30 Menzerna PO106FF/Clearkote RMG mix will give you the same (or very similar) results, extending your working time.

:D I've never used the BF stuff so I can't offer any opinion on it. The true word would have to come from the manufacturer and that wont happen either.

Holy crap it's like SM has his own "bat signal" that he saw shinning in the sky and knew to come to DB...My guess is his "bat signal" is in the shape of a grout sponge:joint:

LOL I had actually looked at this thread earlier but since I really didn't have any usable info to add, I didn't. I don't know why I even looked at it again.

Sorry, my bad. I recalled seeing a post about a CTS-V, and I could have sworn it was by you...apparently not. :sorry:

Joe did an exterior detail on my car for me last August. Great guy, great detailer. Joe let me sit in the back and watch the entire time. Very knowledgable guy. He used SIP, 106FF and Souveran on my car. I was thrilled with the end result.

FWIW, I used BF last night on a 2007 Black Mercedes. The front end was hit by a moving van, so the front fender and hood was repainted (2/3rds of the car had factory paint).
Not having a lot of time, about 10 hours for a complete, I opted to use BlackFire with my rotary. I first started with a white pad and it polished easily but didn't remove the defects to my satisfaction. I noticed a fair amount of dust. I switched to an orange pad, and that worked great--in terms of defect correction. This was my first time using BF, so I'm not sure what the recommended pads are. I did final polishing with the OneGripped PC on speed 6 using BF and a white pad. Sealant was Ultima Paint Guard Plus.

In the past, I would have used Prima on the Ceramiclear paint with an orange pad, but again, given the time constraints, I opted to try the BF and it worked well. I'll need more practice with it to see if I'll add it to my toolset though. I don't have a lot of experience with the 106 though I do have some here that I will also play with to compare.

Not much difference between the two so if you already have Menzerna I would not bother trying BF but if you don't and would rather get the smaller bottles the BF is a good alternative.
