You know the trim pieces on eg on BMW's, Volvo, SUV's etc... plastic trim that turns white and gets dull, well if you haven't heard BLACK WOW is the solution take a look:

It is very nice. I am testing it now for streaks after it rains. One side mirror I applied and left it and the other I applied and came back and buffed off excess. Gonna test on my plastic, b/c black paint shows streaks like no other, starting today. Its supposed to rain tomorrow. Has it been mentioned it smells great too.

It's had a lot of great reviews on AG. I need to try it on my F150 trim. Nothing else seems to work good on it.

use the card you got with it for masking the area you are working from to stay away from the paint.

I really like Black Wow, but that's the one downside for me about it! I can't stand the smell. I think it has an artificial melon smell.

I still use it despite that, though. Its great.

it worked really well on textured trim, but not much on smooth. Washed off next day from rain...

Was the "smooth" trim rubber or plastic? If rubber that is why since this is designed for plastic surfaces

yeh its best on the textured plastic. a lot of trim pieces like on chevys and bmw's.

Also to get a good matte look you should wash the car after applying it. and dont get it on glass or paint!

I've never heard it was better on textured plastic... I would like to know if this is true - anyone else have this happen on smooth plastic that was properly cleaned?

As far as recomending washing, I'm pretty sure I read a post from Richard where he said that is not needed when used in quantity recomended and with his new "masking card" and then wipe clean after it gets a chance to do it's thing....

With Black Wow you can use it two ways really.

You can first apply before your wash and then achieve that matte look.

Or post wash for a little extra shine.

Its totally up to you. Personally I do it post wash when the trim is super clean and pre-clean with 50/50 Alcohol/Water to get any old residue off the trim, then I apply Black Wow and then wipe off any excess product.

In terms of textured or not, I don't think it has to do so much with the feel of the plastic as it does the type of plastic.

It doesn't really matter what type (by this i mean textured or not) of plastic you use it.

But for example, the glossy plastic A-Pillars covers on the MINI won't accept BW, so maybe that's what is meant by smooth plastic.

For me more about the type of plastic and not if its textured or smooth.

    What washed off though?

The entire product or just excess?

Hard to imagine all that product just washing off.

I love the smell. Compared to what some other products smell like. This smells like Jolly Ranchers Watermelon.
