this Highlander belongs to fellow DB member GDAL. he contacted me about having correction work done, as he had recently purchased this vehicle. the paint was moderately swirled and had loads of hologramming throughout, which was due to the shotty work of the dealerships detailers. nothing we all havent dealt with before. the day started out with heavy rain, which sucked. roger (slanguage) was on his way down to meet up with me as he recently acquired his new powerwasher and foam lance setup and was dying to try it out (as was i). he ended up hanging out for the day and helping me out with the correction. we also handled a few trades and whatnot (woooo goodies). i had forgotten my camera back at my house, and thankfully roger brought his. pictures are still limited as we were on a deadline. anyways, onto the businses: Wash: Gas Power washer Foam lance Optimum Car Soap Zep Citrus Uber Sponge 2BM w/ grit guards P21S TAW Uber Drying Towels Wheels/Wells: Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner Various Wheel Brushes P21S TAW Clay: Bilt Hamber Soft Clay Adams Detail Spray Correction: SIP 106FA Uber Orange/Green Brinkmann Dual 1000w halogens 50/50 IPA Uber MFs Misc: SV Pneu Black Wow Ardex Speedy VOC Adams In and Out LSP: Bilt Hamber Autobalm (on the roof) Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger 2X @ 20 min each Wheels Sealed w/ CG Blitz Acrylic
Talking on the phone while working huh? Lol, nice job. What was the reason for only using Autobalm on the roof?
Bad water etching that he improved, but needed more compounding. He did an outstanding job ... I'm fortunate to have great DB members around me.
Like GDAL said, the roof had really bad water spot etching which would have required hours more correction to eliminate, so I used autobalm to try and hide it as much as possible.
I have never seen so much foam ... I might have to stop by at your place just to get a foam wash like that ... lol. Thanks again for the MFs
:shead: Is that who I think it is^^^^^^^ icture: :giggle: Great Looking Job Billyblooshoes/Slanguage :applause:
hahahaha good eye man. i was waiting for someone to pick up on that and say something ( i had a feeling it was going to be you though). she wasnt feeling the reflection shots of herself yesterday. she had too hard of a weekend playing house at my parents place. poor thing. that couch and blanket must have been rough on her :giggle:
you guys did an awesome job! Love how paintwork looks!!! I love snowfoaming shots!!! Pressure washer and a foam lance is amust have and is a nice toy to play with. You can experiment different formulas, I usually use 2-3 oz of soap in 32 oz bottle, and fill the rest with water. The thickest foam I get is from DP Xtreme Formula, second best is from DG #901/902, following by CG CWC. I've noticed the thicker the foam is, the longer it stays on a car, I usually let it dwell for 5-10 minutes, then pressure wash it off. It is a completely different world then a foam gun... To put it simply, if you don't have a PW and a foam lance, get one, you will love it. And if you think you cannot afford it, - stop going out!!! I say that from experience.
