yooooo. snagged thia job as the owner of this bimmer is the neighbor of the guy who owns the last Audi i did. the dude came over and basically said, hey can you do that to my car? i said yes. kind of starts off funny. i originally had him booked for last weekend (full detail and correction), and he was to be out of the country that weekend, so it would work out great. i get to his house, which is not exactly close, and guess what. he drove the 745 to the AIRPORT. wtf. oh well. he offered to compensate me for lost time, and i accepted. i was expecting this thing to be a real ball buster, as the owner of the audi i did was telling me the guy does not take care of his car, aside from taking it through the automatic car wash. well as you will see in the pics, after i got the car washed up and clayed, i was astonished to find that the car BARELY had any defects in the paint. it kind of confused me for a while, but i wasnt complaining. instead of three steps, i settled on a 1 1/2 step process. there were some RIDS that needed to be powered out, which is accomplished with a 4" PFW spot pad and SIP. the rest of the car got 106FA on a green uber. it actually finished down quite nicely. i was considering following it up with PO85RD on a blue uber, but i didnt feel it was necessary. oh and the wheels were a disaster. P21S wheel gel, Grime Reaper 5:1, Ardex Laquer thinner, and claying them could not get them completely clean. oh well, thats what you get for neglecting your shit. i was pretty bent about it at first though.

looks very nice, did you extend the bottom section of the seat were your kneecaps are(hard to explain, don't know what that part of the leg is called:doh:)

Also on the wood grain what I do after I dress is get a wet(H2O) M/F and wipe the wood grain, after that I wipe it dry with a Dry M/F....leaves a Brillant look:chips:

yes i extended them. you can see in one of the pics where its fully extended and there is a bunch of crumbs and debris in the space between that drops down. i work on BMW's every day at my mon-fri job so i can basically detail bimmers with my eyes closed. the wood trim was actually hand polished with 106FA and a MF and came out great, but the pics dont do it justice. my camera sucks.

nice job... sucks about the rims... but I've seen alot of bimmers with wheels like that... they dust so bad, and the heat make the dust etch into the wheel

Looks great Billy! Awesome turnaround. I can never understand how people can neglect their cars that much...especially a car like that...:shead:

thank you. yeah bimmer rims are the WORST when neglected. at work we have a package suited just for this purpose where we charge $50 a wheel to completely clean than when bmw owners neglect them like that. we have to remove the wheels two at a time and then douse them in wheel acid. its a pain in the ass and takes a long time, but it works. unfortunately today i did not have the time for all that, nor did i have any wheel acid. wheel acid is finicky as well. ill use it at work, cause theyre obviously insured. on a customer car, eh, id rather not go there.
