Last week, I sold my BF sealant because I needed some cash. Of course, now I kind of regret it. I have a $50 gift cert to use at DI, so I am getting Optiseal, and either WD or JS.

Suggestions please. One question I never got an answer to before, was how long you have to wait before layering something on top of BF sealant. That may have a part to play.

Or maybe I'll just buy something else all together, but the 25% off sealant sale has piqued my interest.

as far as i know you have to wait 24 hours between layers of BF. but i heard JS is one of best sealants out there but i think its more expencive

    Depends on what you want..

BF WD AFPP will give you a better look IMHO while application and removal is harder (we're talking super nit-picky here.. afpp is NOT hard to remove like RBOE).

JS109 is incredibly easy, incredibly durable, and looks great. But AFPP looks just a bit better IMO

On that Jag detail I did over the summer, Lusso did very little over top of JS109 as far as looks. Others have reported that it gives a somewhat carnuaba look and I'd have to agree. Great stuff. Durability isn't quite what I want, but I'm trying the Vertua Bond route to see how it holds up with that as a prep.

I like Jetseal... but it just isn't durable...

Ken at Detailwerks layers AFPP one right after the other I THINK. I had jetseal and didn't really care for it all that much, I would go with AFPP

no offense but i have not had any length of durability with jetseal that is impressive.

i think they're both good in the looks category, with BF coming out on top, especially on darker cars. both are easy to remove and apply IMO. what edges BF out in front for me is the great durability and the fact that right after buffing off, its slick as HELL. i rarely use my jetseal anymore, but dont plan on getting rid of it.

I cannot talk abut Wet Diamond, but Jesteal 109 is one of my favorite sealants for under a nice wax. I would probably not use it by itself, though. Looks great, but I don't like the beading.

If you are looking for a sealant that you are willing to top off with carnauba wax right away - then get JS109. If you are willing to let it cure before topping it off - BF Wet Diamond is my choice then, and in combo with Midnight Sun it will produce stunning results...

None taken. You can get one coat of carnuba to last a year. There's TONS of different variables that go in to how long a sealant lasts.

Maybe it's because my car sees less than 1000 miles a month (usually around 500). But I was able to get around 4-5 months out of the JS109 that was topped with DP Maxx Wax and another time with Concorso. It was silver if that helps any.

I always layer BF right away. Put a layer on, let dry, remove. Repeat. If you put it on thin it'll come off like dust when its dry. Top with BF Midnight Sun and you're golden.

Easy choice really, Blackfire gives you good looks, super easy to work with and its pretty durable.

Jetseal had okay durability but its just so damn easy and I have never ever had an issue with streaking. When in doubt JS109 is your friend.

I've done this as well, from Ken's recommendations and never had a bonding issue. By itself at the least 4 months. With a proper wash and good spray wax few more months

I haven't noticed any real difference in length of beading and overall protection (sqeak test) between M-Seal and JetSeal 109...
