    Hey guys

I'm installing my exhaust tomorrow, so for the past week ive been layering BF WD day by day on the ti exhaust tips (yes ok ill concede a small portion of ocd) - 5 coats total and wow slickness is Zaino worthy

To avoid scratching the tips during install, i thought id wrap them with my 3M blue tape, but alas it wont stick :shead:

    Is it just too slick?

Now im super eager to try this on the paint

It is super slick and my favorite sealent.. but not that I have that many sealents anyways. I can never get more than 2 weeks of the slickness though :(

Try topping with Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant. :)

Won't you just be burning off your BFWD with the exhaust? :shead:

yer probably, hence the ocd component

i just wanted to give it a go and see how it went on/off before using it on the whole car next week

is it slicker then powerlock? i put power lock on a friends car the other day and the guy called like ten minutes after he left, he was laughing saying he went to the gas station and put his gas cap on the roof like always except it was so slick the gas gap slid off and rolled under the car parked next to him lol

Use BF All Metal Sealant on the exhaust. Lasts around 4 months on exhaust tips.

thats what i probably need then Ken

in the meantime, i might just use the Opt metal polish as thats meant to contain a sealant in it too

im just not sure i should be using any abbrassives on the burned/colored part of the tips

    good stuff to know guys.

So the debate is on . . . . what sealant would you guys say is better:

    Blackfire WD or Powerlock ?

There is no "better" sealant, its ALL perception. I prefer the look of Powerlock as I think its a bit deeper, But I find BF easier to apply. Also, the durability of Powerlock is not confirmed.

i hope someone or a number of folks get to test durability and report back. i still would like to try powerlock

WD felt slicker on my tips than Menz (after Amigo) did on my wheels

not the same material so not the best comparo

im not really a sealant user, so i doubt ill be taking that comparo any further

  14. Legacy99

    Legacy99 Wax on..Wax off

Also an excellent sealant for your wheels as it can take the heat.

did a black z06 in early march, the car is stored outside but with a cover about half the time. the owner onr washes weekly and onr q/d before covering it. and its starting to not bead just recently which is not bad considering the car is always outside and we have been at or above 100 degrees for the last 3 of the 4 months

two coats of BF metal sealant on my rims three months ago is still beading and sheeting water off after weekly washings...so far so good!

Some folks don't care enough to do otherwise.

At least it's not connected by that stupid plastic string, making the cap drag on the paint just below the filler door. I've been tempted to cut that cord on my gas cap, because I hate having to be so careful with it all the time.

As far as setting things on top of the car. I do it. But I only set it on the sunroof. nothing touches the paint.

Most gas caps with that tether have notches cut into the cap so you can "hang" it on the gas filler door. That's how I use mine on my wifes Mazda and my VW.
