That guy really has no life if he goes around sending that type of crap around to honest, hardworking people...
I wonder about the people who really fall for this. I mean, looking the the poor spelling and the obvious Nigerian scam wording...
Phil, I honestly think to teach them a lesson you should set them up. I'm serious. Agree to their terms, have the guy come in (prior to that talk to fraud investigators) like you are about to give him money, and then police maybe even better off FBI can get him arrested, because FBI can make him talk and that's for sure. Sometimes I wish it would be Roman Empire era, because we can have that mf be eaten alive by lions on the arena. Hope I'm not being to harsh, but I absolutely have NO SYMPATHY for this kind of people...
People that are susceptible to Nigerian scams like this are the elderly (particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's).
some people just get so excited about the idea of the money that they don't pay any attention. years ago I had a co-worker that was selling a cell phone and got an email from a lady in some other country wanting to buy the phone for 3 times what he was asking for it. I managed to talk him out of it before she got to the point of the odd little step/favor she needed in the transaction. But it took a lot longer than it should have to convince him it was a scam, most of a day. She could buy a brand new one of the phone he was selling for the price she was offering, but he just kept seeing the dollar signs.
I think it is in the other thread: http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/detailers-domain/28897-beware-escalade-scam.htm#post296285
With quantity of "and"s and hard its to follow what its trying to say and I would just delete the email right after the 3rd "and" in the first sentence and block sender and not favor for him be cos it a scammer and he scamming.
I've recieved 5 phone calls over the past few months with the same idea, however they use the hearing impared call operator. This way I don't talk to them directly, nor do they have an email tracking possiblity. Cheers, GREG
Enough being civilized, we need to go back to 16th century madness...What about tar and feathers? I think that would be awesome, make that a TV show - torture scammers, so the whole country can see that. I'm sure everyone who ever has been a scammer victim will enjoy that show...
Same deal here. Was very strange. Checked the business e-mails the next day, and had an e-mail with the same story. The guy chose his name to be "Rotten Xxxx". If you're going to try to scam someone, at least use a common, generic name.
I got 3 more calls this past week, when the operator got on I said......if this is a scam I don't want any part.....the operator said the person hung up! I just know some time it will be a legit client I'll tick off...... Cheers, GREG
I quit reading after the 3rd line... You'd think someone with 10 Escalades would be able to form a sentence...or at least hire someone to write their emails that could.
