I always look through the show n shine section and and pro studio to see what is used on the glass but i dont feel like purchasing this new adams glass sealant.

I'm going to be doing my summer detail next week once i get my bumpers painted and am curious if i should use Collinite 845, CG Clear Seal, or Jetseal 109. I also have EZ Creme Glaze, Wet Mirror Finish, Petes 53, and FK 1000P but i dont think these would be appropriate for glass esp the front windshield. I'm leaning towards trying 845 on the side windows and am unsure about the windshield and back window.

    What would you guys do?

Clear Seal would be perfect in this case. Super easy to use and realllly easy to keep reapplying. I suspect the Adams glass sealant is really similar to CS or OS.

On the windshield sealants don't last as long as on the other windows due to the abrading of the wipers so you want something strong. Apply Colli THINLY and let it haze for a long time (like 1/2 hour) and then remove. (It might be hard to remove). That should give you the best protection from the products you have listed.

Thanks Richy. If you could recommend i purchase something for the windshield what would it be? I see a lot of people talk about aquapel but wasn't sure if i could get similar results using something i already have.

Get some aquapel, they sell it at Costco for a low cost. Much better then any wax you have tried and it will last almost up to a year if you are careful. Well spent money.

How about that Japanese Polymer Sealant thing I saw someone was selling it here in DB.

I actually have a bottle of that, but never really get to use it...

Optimum Poli-Seal, Optimum Opti-Seal, Zaino Z-AIO, Zaino Z-CS, Menzerna HGAS and BF Spraay Sealant. Any one or combinatino of the above products will work well on glass. Usually BF Spray Sealant or Menz HGAS is my glass LSP and I re-apply it to the glass after every wash, espeecially the windshield (wipers are hard on sealants/waxes).

Aquapel is good for the money, but I want that new glass sealant from Adam's.

    Glass Protective Coating

G-Techniq together with Bayer and BASF has devised a new coating G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass nano composite polish that can be applied to glass surfaces. It uses Silane nano-technology polymers that bond with the glass forming a tough, transparent protective coating, which ensures a much superior bonding which allows for an incredible water, dust and pollutant repellence and extended coating durability.

The surface become incredibly water repellent, very easy to maintain, dirt, oil and pollutant repellent and very durable…oh, it’ll also leave the surface with an incredible shine. Applied too thickly it actually crystallises into a very hard rough crust – a useful demonstration of the nature of the product.

Duragloss makes a product called rain repel. Karl has used it too. It's great stuff. It seems to last a long time. I didn't mention it earlier b/c I thought you wanted to use something from what you had on hand.

Aquapel works great, and it's fairly cheap. Why bother trying to wax your windows.

+1 for DG Rain Repel and Nu-Glass. Both work great and they are OTC ... you can't go wrong with these two products.

But I might be kinda biased, I'm on a DG kick right now ... thanks to Richy and Ken. DG is slowly taking over my other products. They work great and they are fairly cheap.

hey, Richy, which Collinite are you using for this?

I noticed C1 was missing from their site, that's what I really want to try. Along with C4, and C5.

Today, I tried my new Menzerna Poer Lock Sealant.
It was real easy to use and even easier to remove.
I decided to use it on the windows of a car I was woerking on today, and it did a superb job.
No oily residue or hologram-like appearance. It removed clean with no problem.
Of course this was my first time using this product, and that's all i have to say for now.
The paint looked great and glossy after I got done...

i got crafty today and clayed my fathers windows using CG Clear Seal as lube. They look amazingly reflective and now just need to wait for some rain to see if the clear seal has good repellent properties.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I've really been wondering lately what the best process is for applying polishes and sealants to windows. Do you guys apply everything on the glass by hand?
