Ok guys, if you had the money, which one would you get, the Bentley Continental GT or the Aston Martin DB9? Both are great looking cars, but the difference IMO is that the Bentley screams out I am classy, sophisticated and old while the Aston Martin says I am classy, sophisticated and young and hip. I would go for the Aston Martin. Which one would you get? Bentley: Aston
That would be a huge difference and an easy choice, so you have to choose between the GT and the DB9 because they are closer to each other in price.
Aston for me without question... I don't find that Bentley to be a very attractive vehicle to be honest.
Oooh hard choice...Bentleys are gorgeous vehicle, from the interior to the exterior. You definitely get classy from the Bentley you also get it with the Aston but the Bentley is something else. As for what I would choose, I would have to go with the Aston Martin and surprisingly they aren't that expensive, I mean they cost a shinny penny or two but still obtainable. As for the Bentley, like I said it's hard to choose. Pictures are one thing, seeing them in real life is another thing and these vehicles are extremely gorgeous when you see them in real life so like I said hard to choose.
In all honesty I think a Bentley GT in the right color with the right wheels (both from the factory) really looks great but I just see to many of them around. Its become the "go to" car for so many different types of wealthy people. I like to be unique and different so I'd go with the Aston, simple and sporty at the same time...in a coupe only of course.
A Bentley would be nice if I was having a mid life crisis. The Aston Martin would be nice, no matter what crisis I'd be in.
I've seen quite a few Bentleys around here and they do look nice, but definitely not as nice as the Astons. The Astons look more sporty. One thing I do not like about the Bentleys is that the interior has too much wood, which some people like, but IMO, too much of it is overkill an distracts from the look.
Aston for me then. I want one of the new Ferrari Californias or the new Alfa 8C...absolutely no idea what the differences in price are though.
I've detailed a Continental GT before, they are extremely solid and well put together vehicles (at that price, they should be). Everything is of high quality. Never done an Aston before. Being a young guy, I would probably go with the Aston. Definitely more of a head turner than a Bentley, even in my area where there are hardly any exotics. If I were 45 or older, I would go with the CGT instead.
Ah, yes, the Ferrari California, now that's taking it to a whole different level. That is one bad a** car. Rumor has it, it will be priced between $200K and $250K. I'd go for that. The Alpha Romeo 8C, I am not really feeling it that much, something about it reminds me of a Corvette. The Alpha Romeo 8C is said to be priced at around $240k. Here you go: Ferrari: Alpha:
That Ferrari looks like a cross between a Solstice and the old Maserati GranSport to me. Then again, what do I know about Ferraris?
Considering Mercedes build quality these days that would be a costly mistake. And the Ferrari California is a limp wristed cash in. If you buy an Aston you can pretend you're James Bond if you buy a Bentley you pretend you're an old man. Aston all the way
For a Merc, I'd go with the new SL65 AMG Black Edition until they come out with that Gullwing in 2011. detdoc, that pic of the 8C totally doesn't do it justice. The Ferrari 599 looks more like a Vette to me than the California. I just need to win the lotto!!!
Well, living vicariously through my dad, I've driven both the DB9 and GT. They are two totally different types of rides in my opinion. The DB9 is a lot more sportier and definitely rides a little harsher. The GT is first class ride and cabin all the way. For roadtrips, the GT would be the way to go. But, if I had to choose one, the spirited driver in me would have to take the DB9. Please don't think I have my nose in the air on this one. My dad is a car fanatic and it's definitely an obsession with him. Some of you may remember the Jag XKR Portfolio of his I detailed. He's worked his rear off all his life to retire in the position he's in and says of himself that he's just a hoosier having fun. Actually, both the DB9 and GT will both haul a few pieces of sod, bag of fertilizer, and bag of dirt if you need them. My dad's done all of these with his cars. Currently, he has an '09 M-B SL600. I'm supposed to be giving it a detail in the upcoming weeks.
