what are your opinions of autoglym super resin polish, vinyl & rubber care, and the rapid detailer? Im looking to pick up some autoglym products at pepboys with their 20% off ag products coupon
Im a big fan of autoglym, have been using their products for a few years now, used to pick it up in small bits whenever I would go overseas. Now that some of the items are available locally, Ive stocked up on the items that you mentioned. Ive used the rapid detailer(between washes), and the super resin polish last year. There is a write up on here of a member who did some paint correction and used autoglym HD as his LSP and it looked really nice. Hope this helps. Rohit
I picked up HD Wax the other day and really liked it. I need another go at their soap, didn't feel right the first time around.
I've been using Autoglym since before a lot of you were born! Its a solid product line. Everything just works. Period. No flash. No gimmicks. Just quality products.
I have the HD wax, vinyl and rubber and the rapid detailer. Nothing bad to say about them. Quality product.
I just bought the HD wax and I must say that I'm impressed with the quality of their product. I'm sure the items you mentioned have the same quality.
The VRC is awesome stuff. im currently testing its durability on my sister's SUV. The shampoo i just could not get used to. I dunno, maybe i'll try it again.
I tried SRP yesterday with the palm applicator. Its pretty easy to remove and apply. Its a bit thick but it did do some filling and it gave a nice shine. Does not have that much of a warm look but i'm going to give a bit more time since I did not get to look at it carefully in the sun. During removal, it does get a bit chalky but just wipe it off. You don't need to wait long to remove it. Next thing is to see the beading and how long it lasts. Currently I think its a pretty good value if you can buy it otc for a product that does some filling and can hopefully last a month or 2. I like the palm applicator, my hand is not as tired compared to using round foam applicators. Not sure how durable it is but so far I like it for not making my hand tired.
When using SRP, you should follow up with some type of sealant. The SRP has fillers in it that, without being topped with a sealant, will wash away in short order. The protection in SRP should last 2-3 months even if the fillers wash away.
I have used the shampoo, which is pH neutral and nice. The tire dressing is pretty good (ifthey have it). Bought the rapid detailer, but yet to try it.
is their wheel cleaner any good, not custon wheel cleaner, it just says wheel cleaenr, its an orange liquid, is that the old one? description Auto Glym 7 - Wheel Cleaner Wheel cleaner for alloy, painted & plastic finishes. Rapidly removes brake dust, corrosion, and traffic film. Water based acidic detergent. Biodegradable. Silicone Free.
SRP was invented back in the day when the word polish was tossed around for everything. Think of it as a sealant with some fillers in it. Durability is 2-3 months per coat but the fillers will wash away if not sealed in with Extra Gloss Protection or your fav sealant. The Rapid Detailer leaves a VERY slick surface that is very bright. I liked it a lot. It is a light acid based cleaner. Stronger than AG Custom Wheel Cleaner but not really strong. Would be good for wheels that haven't been cleaned in a while but I doubt it would clean the barrels on a set of neglected German wheels.
How would you compare SRP & AGHD to Clearkotes RMG & CMW. I have all but haven't tried the AG combo. Just curious how it would compare on red metallic. Just care about looks.
