Nah, just use a non abrasive polish on that bumper piece. Will be as reflective as the paint See where I've applied it, this is just a non abrasive polish that I use
I have been using the 777 APC for about 2 years. Its only about $8 a gallon. Works great asI use it 1:10 for interiors and 1:4 for exteriors. For something stronger on the exteriors I use the AM Red Hot APC at 1:4 to 1:6. It is $10 a gallon. I also use about 4 oz of the 777 in my pad washer.
I believe David Fermani (Protecht) uses quite a few AM products. He might be able to give you some good answers!
+1 I also use a lot of AM #49 Body Shine QD. It's a great inexpensive QD if purchased by the gallon, much more efficient than buying 16oz bottles at retail. Like Bryan, I use several of their APC's. #777, #713 Special Cleaner, and #35 Red Hot. #777 gets the most use out of the three. I have some of their #35 EZ Suds concentrate shampoo which works well in a foam gun. I've also used their #10 Paint Sealant. While its not like the better boutique products we use, its fine for most customers. Easy application with a PC, wipes off nicely, hard to say what the durability is but in terms of looks and performance, it strikes me a bit like Klasse SG. I have a bottle of their carnauba spray wax called Magic Mist but can't find it on their website. Maybe they discontinued it. Anyway, I like it better around the house than on the car. Looks great on my stove and laundry machines. I prefer to use AM products for frequently used, high-use solutions. For example, I used to buy Eimann Fabrik Hi Intensity APC from CMA by the gallon. Problem is, it's now almost $30 per gallon, pushing $40 when you factor in shipping. Is it really that great of an APC compared to others? No, considering how much APC I burn thru. And not when I can buy a gallon of #777 for $8.00 locally and Red Hot for $10.00. For commonly used, high volume products, AM is definitely worth checking out. Good value, good performing products that work just as well as many high priced brands.
I wanted to try some of this stuff but my local automagic guy was a douch-bag.I called him and told him I wanted to pick up some bananna magic and he tried to sell me sealent and every item I wanted to buy he tried to sell me something else so I ended up buying nothing.
I also wanted to try some AM stuff, went to my local distributor, asked for some prices and quickly left lol! The guy was selling red clay for 40$ and 16oz of chemical for 20$ lol no wonder there was mad dust on his bottles if there would be a good distributor around here I would buy my chemical from AM. Like Brat said, imo there's no point in paying 30$ for some APC now I just use ZEP from home depot. cheap and very effective
I use the XP citrus APC, Leather and Vinal Cleaner, and Magnificent and Wash and wax and in my mind they clean just as well as any other expensive brand would. Their polish, waxes/sealents on the other hand are not even worth trying. The other thing I love about AM is there assortments of brushes, bottels and misc. Plus Don Hastings the distributer hear in Calgary is a great guy.
I've got a few Automagic product and they were my first purchases a few years ago before I started getting into boutique products. I used to get some of these products from the Ford dealership in my area over 20 years ago! Here are some of the products I've tried: XP Swirl Remover(haven't put to the test. I tried it a couple of years ago and haven't used it since, so I can't remember how well it worked.) New Car Glaze(haven't put to the test....same as above.) I purchased these efore I even knew how to use these products...I need to re-test. Banana Magic wax(smells good, looks decent, doesn't last long) Wet Wax - eh Magic Dressing (VERY good solvent dressing, smells awesome, looks awesome) EZ HD Clean - Carpet and Upholstry concentrate cleaner--same one that you want to try. It gets diluted and it actually works pretty good and smells good as well. Seal-It - a decent chemical paint cleaner with a sealant. Decent product. Awesome Gloss Sealant- an average sealant, nothing special Wash n' Wax soap(pink stuff) - Smells like bubblegum and from what I can remember it was a nice soap. Magic Mist Carnauba QD - Same one mentioned in this thread. It's a decent carnauba based QD and I've found many uses for it around the house as well. Not as good as FK425 and many other QD on the market today. Still have 1/3 gallon left from 2 years ago. I've also used the Red Hot degreaser many years ago. It's VERY powerful and caustic. Use with caution.
Thanks for all the input. I am getting hooked up with the local dist here in Metro Detroit....David Fermani dealt with him and didn't have anything bad to say about him I am only going to get cleaning products and the trim product. At the prices they offer the risk vs. reward ratio is heavily in my favor.
Anyone use the cherry bubbles soap? The local AM dist in my area is very good, good customer service and offer a discount when I pickup at their location. I'm thinking of trying out the soap and 777 APC. I have been using cool blue #61 water based dressing for tires (slightly cut) , wheel wells and engines (cut 1:1) and it works well.
The cool blue is not a liquid, but a gel like dressing. I cut it with water so it comes out of the sprayer easier (and spread out better on the applicator). You could use it straight out of the sprayer also, but it's a bit harder to spread and uneven on the applicator. Here is a shot on a tire. The first pic I applied the dressing, then evened out with a MF to create a matte finish. Obviously it will finish a bit more gloss without wiping it down. The second shot is before I cleaned it up and wiped it down...it was very uneven. I'll probably stick with cool blue for dressing engines and wells, running boards etc. but the sample of Surf City's tire dressing Jason sent me really impressed me at lot and I will be using that for tires.
