Hello there DB, Previous client from over a year ago contacted me not too long ago to perform a full correction on his Audi TT. The owner regularly maintains his Audi to the best of his ability and always has had the cleanest interior out of all my clients. The job took 16 hours to complete spread over two days. Products/ tools used: Products: CG Citrus Wash and Clear/ Dawn wash Megs WB 15:1 Megs APC Uber Fine Clay ONR Stoners Invisible Glass 303 Aerospace Protectant Adams VRT dressing Megs 105 Menzerna SIP Menzerna 106 IPA 30% CG JetSeal 109- two coats Leatherique treatment Tools: 2 Wool wash mitts SV brushes- wheel, Pneu Uber Spoke wheel brush 0000 steel whool PC air compressor Flex DA PC DA Various backing plates Surbuf R series MF pads Uber Green foam Uber Orange foam Uber yellow foam LC 3 in. yellow foam LC 3 in. orange foam A full decon and safe was performed and the car was pulled into my garage and put under the lights. Pretty bad swirling, some sanding marks and other defects were present.....time for some surgery. The paint was relatively hard and required a pass with M105 on a Surbuf pad via my PC and then a follow up pass with M105 on a yellow pad via my Flex in order to get the results I was looking for before finishing down. Before: Rocker really hammered: My best friend lately when I need the cut I'm looking for: Durings / 50/50's This area looked to be scuffed in some way- needed further correction so I broke out the sanding paper- Area was wet sanded with 1500 grit then followed up with 3000, pass with M105 on a Surbuf and then a yellow pad did the job! Area was improved- one or two smaller and much deeper imperfections still remain, I let them be given this was an area I felt could contain thin paint levels. On the two other Audi TT's I have worked on there has always been this "sludge" like buildup in the area where the bumper and fender meet- quick use of a skewer and a dentist pick I carry made short work of it! Whew that was hit!! How did you break up the time? 16 hours isn't bad at all considering the condition the paint was in to start.
