    I used a Porter Cable 7424 DA '

    M105 on Orange pad

followed by M205 on a white pad then again on a blue pad

    These are my results.

it looks AMAZING compared to what I had, but I am still desiring better results.

all in all it turned out good for a first time try.

What do you suggest? change pad and compounds around?

I already have the M105 and M205 I don't want to purchase anything else to be honest. I am open to purchasing different pads. I used my friends kit he got from auto geek.

The hood is what I am having trouble with, the rest of the car turned out better than the hood did.

    These are after shots

The white streaks are actually reflections of the white crap jets leave behind lol

    thank you very much.

Yes it looked much better, not where I want it yet.

that is why I posted, trying to get the right pad/compound combo and anything else I may have overlooked.

I do have a rotory Makita I can use, Not bvery comfortable with that one.

I like this pic as well.

Some pretty good work for your first correction!

Like the paint color too :)

From what it looks like the remaining marring looks very light; thus I'm lead to believe the clear coat was warm when you moved from step to step. Keep in mind, warm clear coat becomes easily marred; so be sure to let the surface cool before you move to your finishing step and LSP application.

    Nice work so far.

What towels are you using? In the background I see old cotton towels...

I went at it again tonight, spent about 5 or so hours just on the drivers side.

    I did the following

    M105 orange pad like before

    M205 white pad like before

M205 gray pad instead of blue, I achieved the results I am looking for. the blue was too soft of a pad and wasn't removing the small stuff. The gray was a tad courser and it working well.

not to seal this bad boy up.

Remember, you only have so much paint and wont get away too long with correcting every few days.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have the entire drivers side done.

I have to work tonight so I won't be able to mess with it.

Going to knock out the passenger side tomorrow night and we should be golden.

I pulled it in the sun and am very happy with the results the 2nd time around.

So like I said previously, last night I was redoing the car with a different pad combo.

I just got home from work and it's sunny out so I rolled the turd out to see.

I am stoked, I finally found the right combo!!!!!!!

Here is a pic after the 2nd time around with different pad combo.

This is a picture from yesterday when I did the first initial correction, as you can see it still had some crap left in it.

Picture before I did anything to the car but wash it
