I get tons of emails and PM's about this subject, so I would like to clarify something about „glass coatings”. Are our „Body Wrap” and „Hard Body” coatings considered „glass Livingstone”? The answer is YES . There is a solid matter, like a glass, in the coatings that will crystallize when cured, thus forming the surface roughness which makes the paint super-hydrophobic... Just as almost every other nano coating on the market, with the difference being that we don't advertise it as a „glass coating” because we feel it's a bit misleading. Another question I get a lot is: „I applied Glass Guard (our glass sealant) and it only lasted for about a week... what did I do wrong?” Simply put, it wasn't applied correctly. Unlike the paint coatings we have, which crystallize on the surface of the paint and form a physical bond, the bonding process of our glass sealant is actually a chemical bond. During the application of Glass Guard, the glass is literally „altered” and the components in Glass Guard solidify with the glass, becoming a part of it, as compared to others that physically bond to it. If this sealant is applied correctly, meaning there are no contaminants which could interrupt the bonding process, you can be guaranteed that the only way to remove it prematurely is with sand paper, or a rayon polishing disk, cerium oxide polish and a lot of elbow grease . Thanks for reading and let me know if you have any questions!
I have applied the glass coating as is says but still won't last. I leave it on for 15min and then wipe off with micro fiber towel what am I missing. I watch a video by you guys on how to apply the product be he didn't leave it on for 10-15 mins? Thanks Todd
Me too. Applying an LSP should not have to be rocket science. How much more prep do you need to do other than a wash, thorough clay , and IPA wipedown? What else is going to get the glass "free of contaminants"? I watched the video several times and Jesse does not do anything in there that I didn't do. I just want to know what I am doing wrong that's all.
Other than what you've stated there's nothing else you should need to do ! Is it not performing for you??
I'm going to my car this weekend again I'll let you know how it goes. I have 3 customers that want window treatment. Todd
Well technically since it actually becomes part of the glass itself instead of just bonding to it, it could technically last forever, but because of wiper abrasion and chemicals from wiper fluid, etc. it really varies. It's been on my windscreen for more than a year now and still beading quite well. Also, wiper abrasion is just part of the problem... when the wipers shed the rubber on to the glass, the tiny little pieces of rubber stick to the window and alter the structure...
