I was wondering if someone could comment on the application of sealants in areas that face ambient temperature issues. I live in the snow belt and my wife is getting a new Allroad in Phantom Black. Our temps have been in the 20-30 range lately. I have access to a heated garage but it's most likely going to be pushing 40s to 50s max temp if lucky given the current weather. Does a product like opticoat require higher temps? I looked on the optimum website and detailersdomain but could not find the information for application temperature. I'm thinking the first option is throwing some "cheap" clear bra on the hood and stripping it off in the spring for a fresh polish/opti coat/clear bra. The reason is that the local treatment is brine and salt/gravel for snow/ice on the roads. Nothing worse that rock chips from the gravel on black paint. The alternative, second option, is to use the heated garage and try to get clear bra and coat of opti on. I think the first option is the smart move but would love some input from the pros. I just want to do it the best way. Thanks.
I run 1 small heater when the temp is cold. You can use your halogens as well to keep the temp up. I haven't had any issues around 50s.
