i am trying to cut my supplies cost down. i have used zep citrus on somethings in the past with no issues except on a oxidized bumper that i grabbed 3.1 instead of 10.1 ......my question is do you think its needed to have zep citrus and opt apc? or can they pretty much be used for the same things at different ratios

I use them both for the same thing. Trying to run out of my Zep though because I think it takes a little longer to rinse out/off of what ever I'm cleaning.

I have both Zep Citrus and OPC.

Haven't really had any problems with Zep 4:1 as a pre-soak but I never let it sit on the paint for more than a few minutes and always follow with a thorough rinse. I use OPC mostly for interior cleaning but it works well on everything.

i love opc just cant justify 36 a gallon....im almost certain zep citrus and meg apc+ can replace opt for 2x the product at 1/3 the cost

Ill tell you this...... Zeps to me works pretty much the same at full strength, 1:1 all the way to 1:5.......... one thing I dislike about OPC is the white residue, I like megs super degreaser, it does not leave the white residue. Once im out of OPC I will not be replacing it.........

Plus the hardware store by my house now carries Zeps full line....... :)

Interesting I didn't know OPC left white residue. Is it easily rinsed off or does it become a pita if you leave it on for too long?

you are not supposed to let it sit, I usually don't but I have found 1:1 or 3:1 can leave a white residue..... even if rinsed fairly quickly. Megs super degreaser does not. Zeps does the same thing, its not hard to remove, its just one extra unnecessary step.

Also try Zep purple while your at it. It takes the brown out of tires like nothing else.

I was thinking of picking some up to use as an LSP stripper. Does it leave a residue that is hard to get rid of after foaming the car? I've been using Einszett Blitz but figured it would be cheaper to get a gallon of the OPT PC. Yeah I've noticed there is a white residue when I've left the Zep on tires but I always spray, let it dwell, then agitate with a brush, and rinse off anyway.

For a weekend warrior do you think it's worthwhile to get the Zep Purple or just stick to using the same wheel cleaner to clean the tires? I'm accumulating a mass load of products and feel like it'll be a long time before I get through all of it. I just don't want to overload on stuff when I have multiple products that all serve the same purpose.

I'll vouch that Zep purple does a fantastic job on tires. I also use it on engine bays and wheels wells. Never tried it on exhaust tips but I think it would work well.

Yep, and at 10 bucks a gallon its a bargain.

When it comes to interiors though, OPC is hard to beat. The strongest I have had to use it is at 3:1 so it's still cost effective and cleans better than almost anything else.
