I was wondering if an APC is good enough to clean tires. I notice some people will use a APC such as Kleenol for their rims, but use a different product like ARO for the tires.
I use Meguiars APC+ on my tires. It removes all the past tireshine and browning on them. Works great for me :thumb:
i used to use simple green, but switched to ardex nu-wave. Haven't tried meg's apc on my tires, even though I have some.
I used to use Megs APC but switch to ARO and I think it works better to get the tires really clean. sometimes I would have to use the APC twice to get the tires totally clean, but the ARO takes care of everything in one pass.
I recently just bought a full gallon of ARO and it seems to work best at full strength. I tried ARO diluted 1:1 and it didn't seem to work so well. I'll have to do some more thorough testing on several more tires. On another note, I found E1 A2Z Wheel & Tire Cleaner is comparable in price (Wal-Mart) to ARO to the ounce if ARO is used at full strength. If I'm not completely satisfied by the time I finish ARO, I'll probably make the switch to A2Z.
has anyone used grime reaper on rims and brake dust ? would that be too strong ? what kinda dilution ratio ? I'm, using the premium blue cleaner for now...
I use the reaper at 4:1 for most jobs. I have not had any problems with it. I always spray the wheels down with water first. I reserve it for the nastiest rims.
Megs APC 10:1 for light grime, 4:1 for heavier...get a foaming sprayer too. This works out about the same as ARO, and is more cost efficient...
I used to use Meg's APC cut 4:1; however, repeated applications were necessary to completely remove existing dressings. I began using Hi-Temp Tire Cleaner and will continue to do so; it works great.
