They have them at my local Target - saw it for $130 (Target.com says $180 so I guess it's on sale).

    -1 for Karcher:
I've read some people say Karchers aren't the most durable (then again; I'm just a hobbyist not a workhorse).

    +1 for Karcher:
Some people have mentioned anything over 2000PSI is overkill for automotive.

    +/-:
Is a nice foam lance attachment more critical for washing than the washer itself?

id say that the washer itself is just as important as getting a good foam lance. Karcher is fine as long as you have a good outlet (that can support the Amps) and you clear the water out before storage along with initiating in the correct sequence.
It takes me a few trys to turn on my karcher everytime lol

care to explain what u mean by "it takes u a few times to turn it on?"...meaning the power switch doesn't work or what?

i'm planning to buy a karcher also so that is why i'm interested. just trying to find out what problems to anticipate with the PW. thanks.

you need to hit the Reset then Test then Reset again. a Light is suppose to pop up for a sec if its a good socket
then ugh i turn it on and have to push water through for a bit until water circulates through the whole pump (probably because I empty the water out everytime)
so yeah I end up having to try different sockets in my garage to try my luck (though I always fall back to the same one socket)

yoshi, there is no light in the AC adapter, it is just clear with a red sticker so when you push it in, it only looks like it's lit up. If you hear the click when you push the button in, you should be good to go.

Chase, Karcher makes nice units. As yoshi stated, read the manual carefully on the proper procedure of setting up/disassembling the unit each time you use it. This will give you the longest life out of the unit. I read horror stories all over the web about Karcher electric PW's but I'm no my second Karcher and they just work fine for me.

A few members on this forum have recently been raving about AR North America electric pressure washers so that is a good brand to look into as well.

so the PW is overloading the socket?...usually only GFI sockets have the "test" and "reset" button in the middle.

the test and reset are on the plug itself. it hasn't done any fuse switching for me yet but its just that it seems that not all my damn sockets are equal. just like inside the house, if i print stuff with my printer plugged outside, my lights flicker LOL

i looked at the karcher at costco today and saw what u were talking about.

the front of the plug has "reset" then a light in the middle then "test" below it.

ur supposed to plug it in, press reset, light should come on, then press test, light should go off, then reset and then use the PW. good stuff, thanks man.

Went to Target tonight to double check price and model.

Looked like they moved it so I asked a store employee.

"If it was a clearance item they are probably sold out."

I am wondering if this is a good pressure washer for weekly washings? Its a good price at Walmart; anybody have any input on this specific model? I want to pair this up with a foam lance. The main reason this one got my attention was that it sprays at 1.5 GPM.

    Karcher K3.690 Pressure Washer:
    1800 PSI
    1.5 GPM
Bayonet trigger gun with child safety lock
    DirtBlaster spray wand
    Vario Power Spray (VPS) wand
    Built-in detergent tank
    Onboard hose reel
    25' high pressure hose
    Weight: 28.6 lbs

I have the K5.68 and it works awesome despite horrible reviews on costco (cuz people dont know how to play with the buttons)
I mean really you cant go wrong with Karchers as long as you do the proper clean up and not let water sit inside the system when storing away for a long time...

I read at that the K5 should be the best Karcher since it has a motor from the commercial. What I see from the K2 I used is that you do need to be careful with it. The fittings are mostly plastic so they are not as robust as more. If leave water in it and it freezes, it is a goner.

Yeah; I've read a lot of Karcher reviews - but I think most people use them for house chores (like cleaning decks and stuff) so I suppose put under those stresses it would be tough to live up to.
