Anyone tried the Meguiar's "So1o System" stuff?

I was drawn to the backing plate because it looks like a much less expensive alternative to the 3M UK backing plate.

I'm having poor results with the ultra soft pad though - the pad skips all over the place, and is even disintegrating a bit. Now, I'm pretty new to my rotary, so I'm sure a lot of my problems are caused by inexperience. I'm also wondering if attempting to use a polish other than Meguiar's new M86 polish - which is part of this "system" - is causing problems.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has messed around with this stuff. I'm hopeful that, if nothing else, the backing plate will prove to be a nice find. Meanwhile, I'll continue to play with my junkyard panels - which are proving useful not only for learning the rotary itself, but for trying new products as well.

i have tried it. it's a good product imo. but i noticed it dust a lot. tried it with their burgundy colored wool. it's effective. in matters of skipping with product, it didn't happen to me. oh yes its backing plate is nice. nice alternative to 3m uk pad but not as good as the 3m uk.
