Sup guys, is anyone using a PC and not have a garage to close in the noise. How loud is it using it outside...I bet it gets alot ofattention huh

Also when using your PC and not being able to obviously get into every nook and cranny. Is it necessary to get in there by hand? If you dont attend to those little spots that havent been hit by the PC will they stand out like a sore thumb?

I don't think the PC is that loud at all. I use one quite a bit outside and it never bother anyone.

For tight spots, you can use the smaller 4 inch pads. For areas you can't even reach with those, you will have to polish by hand.

The PC isn't as loud as the rotary, which really isn't that loud.

ok no seriously, people use lawnmowers and chainsaws outside, you should be ok with the PC.

And also, with the smal backing plates and 3-4" pads that are available, you can probably polish like 99% of a vehicle. Behind door handles and under spoilers is when you have to get creative.

I use my PC (technically a griots random orbital, but same basic thing right?...) ((We are talking about a Porter Cable Random orbital right??!?!) but regardless, its not nearly as loud as a pressure washer, heck, i have cool neighbors so they come hang out with me while i wash and polish the supra. Southern Oregon is a friendly type of place.

I live in San Francisco and have no garage.

I have to use my PC on the street and doge the two public trans line also on my street.

I hate living in the City...!

At first I was worried about the sound...but then I realized that I don't care...and think you shouldn't either.

Lol... noise outside... I try and be polite and not make noise before or after 9, but in the 12 hours between I'll make all the noise I want lol... I was grinding a trailer frame with a 9" unit last weekend... it made a bit of a racket!

I detail in my warehouse, so no issues, but I once detailed my car in the parking area of my apartment complex. No one complained, in fact quite a few people asked me how much to detail their cars! I didn't take any jobs, I detail for myself only, but not one person complained about noise. You should be fine.

Just take into consideration where you are. People in Seattle tend to not be intrusive, rude or prying. Most are just friendly and keep to themselves.
