Since I only detail my car I have my Ipod playing in my garage through some speakers. I listen usually Metal, Rock, or Progressive Rock and once in a while some Jazz.

I listen to Miles Davis when I do listen to music during detailing, but just remember that your ears are a mighty good tool for catching problems, like grit caught on the foam.

Yeah I always have my headphones in while detailing. I listen to city and colour, ray lamontagne, tyrone wells, or jazz. Detailing relaxes me as it is and I like having relaxing music with it.

iPod when I remember it. Next purchase will be wireless earbuds. Still a bit pricey at $400 though.

What manufacturer Ken? I need to look some of those up, $400 isn't justifiable though.

I've seen bluetooh in-ear's with phone functionality for ~$150

But I always listen to my iPod, unless I'm BSing with the client while detailing. Usually some sort of indie rock (latley I've been in to Matt & Kim, Temper Trap, Mumm-Ra)

I use my Blackberry and listen to customized stations on Slacker. I use Motorola S9-HD bluetooth headphones as I hate dealing with wires. Plus if I get a call I can answer through the headphones and never have to stop detailing.

How well do they stay on your head? These are the ones I was looking at here.

When I will have my garage ready, I will install 5.1 speakers to listen music.

Ken..wow, those cost a fortune. I hate having ear buds, etc in my ears...they just bother me. I deal wiht the wires and have headphones for when I'm out doing a job. Ontario has a hands-free law so I bought one of those sunvisor models so I don't have to have anything in my ear. I bet those sound magnificent though.

I like the earbuds as they just don't fall out and the sound is awesome. I want those ones so I to can get rid of the wires. We just had our hands free law passed as well. $170 for using ANY hand held device including iPods etc while driving. Texting while driving will net you $170 AND 3 points on your license.

i almost always listen to my ipod while detailing. here's a nice little trick for you guys worried about the cord:
put the earbuds in , then run the cord under your shirt, then hook it to your ipod and clip it on your belt or stick it in your pocket. works great for me, i do this every day, and that way the cord is under your shirt and for the most part not dangling around. and i have those "ipod shuffle" earbuds which have the song skip pressure switches under the right earbud for quick and easy song changes.

My work pants have a pocket dead center in the back so I run the cord up my back under my shirt or jacket so the cords don't dangle.

Hey guys I have Oakley Thumps since I am mobile I am outside 99% of the time. I have to say they are one of the best purchases I have made. They sound just as good as an Ipod but have no wires dangling. The glasses stay on great as most oakleys do. If you guys work outside I would totally recommend getting a pair. They are a bit pricey (around $200 to start) but like I said they work AWESOME!!!

I put them in my two-pocket Red Baron work shirt.. string the cord inside the button up and back out at the collar. Works fine.. and easy to get to my phone to change songs, etc.

    Also, GENIUS playlists FTW!
