Anyone here own an F150 Platinum? Trim question

I just brought my new truck home yesterday and have some dumb questions for anyone with experience whit the Platinum model. I gave it its first wash today and in effort to remove a few waterspots from the grille and tailgate panel the paint seemed to have a disagreement with both a regular Autozone Megs Quick detail and Adams Detail spray. It left the finish somewhat blotchy looking nothing noticeable to a passerby but it drives me nuts knowing that it is. Im not sure if its because of it being a semigloss paint or whatever you want to call the finish. This brings me to my next question, Im unsure of what to use as protection on these pieces when I go to wax it and if a quick sealant ( be it Sonax, Adams ,what have you) will affect it. Im slightly new to Detailing other than wash,clay,wax basics so none of this may make any sense but any help I can get is greatly appreciated
