I recently bought a Home Depot brand grout sponge. Is this any different really than the Proline style?

Yes it is; much different. The GS by Proline from Lowes has larger pores, is a lot softer, holds more suds, and spreads suds better.

Thanks, well for now I'll try this one out, but I'll be sure to pick up some Prolines.

There's a sponge at Advance Auto that's slightly bone-shaped, large pores, and the softest sponge I have ever felt. It's imported from Greece and way softer than the Proline sponges I got from Lowes. It was on sale 2 weeks ago for 4 for $1.00. I bought about 20 of them. I believe they're selling them now for $1.25. Great ONR sponges!

GREAT information. I saw this thing at Advance last time I was there. I asked the clerk if I could open it up and feel it, and he (not surprisingly) said no. I'll check them out.
