I'm trying to help someone on another forum try to figure out what these spots are. He's using a rotary and 3M Perfect-It III Trizact Machine Glaze with a Mequires W8000 soft foam pad.
No, he says it's not a lighting issue. Apparently there are a couple of other spots on the car like this.
My first thought was that it was fresh paint because he said the body shop suggested the 3M polish. I don't know for sure I'm waiting for a response. Just found out that this is not a repaint nor has the car been wet sanded.
Reason I asked if you go through the clear while wet sanding on metallic paint that is what it looks like. Not saying that is what it is till you get more info, but that would be my guess just by looking at the pictures.
I thought maybe he burned through the clear as well, but he says that there were other spots like this on the car that he was able to get out. Then again this is the owners second go round with a rotary.
are you talking about where the sparkle looks silver instead of gold? Are there any pics without a flash?
looks like solvent pop or pitting but could be something else I had a boot that was covered in that stuff and I removed it all with G techniq P1 nanoscopic polish and edge black wool
What exactly are we looking at? I can't see any difference between the circled and non circled areas aside from some smudges/holograms.
like I said before, could be solvent pop or pitts Has the car been hit with hail before it could also be a sign that the clear is getting thin
