Here's another mk3 supra. This is, undoubtedly the nicest car I've detailed. I've done new cars, more expensive cars etc.... but when you look at the pictures, you'll understand what I mean.

This car has around 100,000km on it, is 20 years old and is still owned by the original owner. it's been tastefully modified. several HKS parts, 57 trim turbo, downpipe, brullen 3" exhaust, coilovers, intercooler wilwood big brake kit and a few more things.

The car still has original paint and the owner keeps it in the garage 24/7 he called me to take care of some areas that irritated him and put a coat of wax on it. I have seen this car before and new it was nice... but I didn't know how nice until I spent several hours with it.

when I arrived, his statement should have been a hint on how well he takes care of it:
"yeah I cleaned it last year when we had that rain storm, I had to take the brakes off the car, there was dirt everywhere!"

The car is detailed annually by a high-end detail shop in toronto but they haven't taken care of some of the areas that really bother him, like the door jambs. He was also concerned about the paint thickness, so I did not perform any correction on this car, as I do not have a thickness gauge.

The owner requested after I finished washing it, to take it for a spin to remove the water that collects inside the rotors. I was happy to oblige, and then removed the rusty/dirty water that collected on the rims.

door jambs were taken care of, and all the hinges detailed.

Great news is that after this detail, this car won the 2010 Annual Toronto Supra Club Show and Shine - Mk3 class!!

I detailed (fully) another of his cars shortly after this job :)

If I recall, I spent nearly two hours on each jam. this stuff was stuck on HARD. This car has single stage paint, and I was getting paint transfer with non-ph neutral cleaners. cleaning was done primarily with my steamer and took forever. Cloths, micros, Q-tips, brushes and diluted zep citrus were all employed...but it paid off. customer was most happy with this.

I waxed the license plates, front and back..

    shampooed and extracted mats

this is the engine bay, I did NOT touch

    highly polished heat shield

    trunk, orig. tool bag

his spare is a gram light wheel, to fit over his big brakes. I dressed it.

love this little brush for low aspect ratio tires

getting the dirt out of the screws

just a wax job, but I hate build-up...

proof that CG wet mirror shine has some cleaners/polishers in it.

Wow. That thing was supra clean to begin with. Great work on taking it to the next level.

Where were his problem areas besides door jams?

    thanks guys.

Door jambs were his main peeve I made sure I did them first and made sure I did a good job.

He wanted to make sure the wheel barrels were clean, do what I could with the wheel-wells and make sure all the jambs were in good shape.

Funny how the other shop never touches the door jambs. They seem to have kept the paint in good shape. Maybe they were afraid of charging him a couple hours labour to take care of it? funny, because that was irritating my customer very much.

rofl has the dash warped around the airvents in the sun, or did they mould the dash uneven on purpose to make it look more real
