Next door neighbor with the owner of an RS5 a detail I did the previous weekend out in Bend Oregon. The car was manufactured in January, and sent to a dealer in California. This color is a special order I was told, I guess not very common. Shipped to Bend to the new owner recently. The hood and side view mirrors were painted matte black by a local body shop couple of weeks ago I believe. Paint measured in the 200 micron range all the way down 150s as you went south. I really am impressed with the build and fit of this car. Orange peel was also much less than normal, which helps creating a great finish. The engine performance was boosted with some computer work - I was told over 500 HP/Torque _5240008.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr _5240007.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr This car is a weekend car and most likely never be driven in the rain, so it was pretty clean when I arrived. It received a quick wipe down, followed by Zaino clay bar. Very little contamination was removed. After a quick dry, I spent some time to make sure that the hood and side view mirrors were protected. _5240011.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr P5240013.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr Unfortunately, the paint was full of RIDS P5240014.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr P5240016.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr P5240019.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr After final polish P5240024.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr P5240025.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr P5240027.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr 101 was really dusting so once I was done with all polishing, on day 2, I had to wash the car. _5250029.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr Once dry, the paint was Opti Coated, glass was polished and coated with Opti Glass pro. AFTER SHOTS - just 3 as I had 3 hours of driving ahead of me and it was raining. _5260034_HDR.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr _5260037_HDR.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr _5260032.jpg by savingspaces33, on Flickr
Excellent work on those RIDS. Super shiny and clean. Well done! Just one question. When there's not so much dust what do you usually use to clean off the polish?
