One of my clients recently acquired this beautiful certified pre owned Mercedez and wanted me to get everything back to a like new condition. As well as to properly protect the vehicle from the elements, both inside and out. After careful inspection of the vehicle we both determined that REMARKABLY a paint correction would not be needed for the time being. This was the best paint condition i have ever seen on a car, let alone a BLACK one! Kudos to the previous owner(s).

The car is tastefully modded with all AMG parts besides the engine and transmission. Lowered air suspension, custom wheels and tires and various lights black tinted. Not bad for a DD!

Let the car cool down for about 30 min before i started the wash process. I like to do this just to ensure there is no reaction between the chemicals being used and the various hot parts on the vehicle like the brakes or engine components.

Relatively clean with very little defects? :worship2:

    Inner barrels needed some work

Interior needed some work to bring it back to "new".

After all the before shots were taken i came to the conclusion that i would start with the interior first. Get that out of the way and looking 100. Then i'll move onto the exterior...

Removed the felt inserts to vacuum underneath.

Me being the neat freak i am, saw this mess of MF towels.

    Yeah... That's not guna happen

    MUCH better

    Cabin vacuumed thoroughly:

Interior all finished up. Tightness certified?

Now that the interior was finished it was time to start the wash process

    My secret LSP stripping concoction

    Extra Sudsy

Pulled the car in and started with the clay bar

Not many visible contaminants were removed from the paint surface. But it's still a vital step and did make a HUGE difference!

Two coats of Powerlock were applied as an LSP

Old tire dressing had to be stripped before the new protectant was applied. If it was applied directly on top of the old, greasy silicone-based dressing sitting on the tire it would not bind correctly and it would severly effect it's performance.

Faded trim was cleaned then dressed:

    Onto the final pictures... Finally

The car was outside for a full 2.6 seconds and already there was Bee Shit on the hood.

    Nice work on the CLS.

Did you do any polishing after claying? I always find SOME kind of marring induced after claying a vehicle, no matter how careful I am.

I love the stripes you vacuum in the carpet! Reminds me of how my Mom vacuumed the house when I was a kid, boy did I ever catch hell for messing up her carpet!

I explained this to the owner of the vehicle before i started the detail but unfortunately he vested in not doing any correction work right now. I used mothers yellow clay on this particular vehicle to help reduce any possible marring due to it's softness. I just made sure to use very light pressure, extra QD and i warmed up the clay throughout the process in a cup of warm water. I didn't find much additional noticeable marring in the paint.

It still would have been nice to book a correction though!

Lol. Thanks alot Dave! It does go great with your eye color.

Thanks for noticing. :) It took me a while to get it there, but it's set up for the most efficient detailing and effective use of the space i have.

That's funny you say that, my mom did the same thing. And to this day i still can't get as consistent of a stripe as her. I wonder why she didn't open a detailing biz?

Nice detail, totally related question but do those Arms bands work? There not very big here but a lot of people had them during my recent visit to SC

    Thank you Kody!

U mean my flux reactor chakra aligning wrist band? lol Honestly, they are nothing more than a fashion piece since basically it's a plastic hologram chip embedded into silicone.

They might be giving me a placebo effect so i'm wearing it just in case ;)
