its time to finally order my makita! im going to be getting it off amazon and since it qualifies for free shipping..was wondering if there are any other things that might be worth looking at to take advantage of the free ship. i was thinking of some meguiars clay and not sure what else...so if theres anything worth while let me know! doesnt necessarily have to be detailing stuff either. thanks
I love my Makita, it is my best friend in detailing. You should buy one from Phil, dealing with all the random merchants on Amazon is terrible, trust me... I ordered something from Amazon (Auto Barn) about two weeks ago and they shipped a 1 dollar screwdriver kit but not the actual item... turns out it was on backorder but they never told me. They told me that three days after I emailed them. When will I get my item? Who knows? What will they do if something goes wrong with it? Ignore my email I'm sure. You can get a discount from Phil, but Amazon might be a little cheaper. It's worth it though because you never know with Amazon, and Phil will help you out if anything goes wrong. Also Phil always ships the same day or next day. He responds to emails very quickly, and answers any questions you have. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=183
I got mine from coastaltool.com. great prices and good prices on shipping as well. I got my PC from there also. Makita 9227C Polisher, 9227CX3 Auto Buffer Bonus Kit I think going thru coastal would be cheaper including shipping VS amazon.
I respectfully disagree, using the PC is such a pain in the ass. I can't stand to do a full correction detail with a PC. The PC makes tons of vibrations that kill your hands, the Makita is quiet and smooth, and it breaks down polish a lot more efficiently. DISCLAIMER: I have heard of the KB method but never tried it.
Check out the 3 pack of Supreme Shine MF towels man. Those are free shipping too. Just order a 4 of them like I did :thumb:
Yeah, I totally agree that the rotary is probably the most efficient but I haven't tried the KB method either. I'm really looking to try that method soon.
eBay Motors: Makita 7" 9227C Buffer Polisher Sander Mega Kit - New (item 190290911186 end time Mar-10-09 13:01:04 PDT) I ordered from here, everything works properly, brand new item, live on the east coast and got it very quickly. I would rather support someone like Phil, but the deal was too good to pass up.
