Hey so I've done quite a bit of research on the Porter Cable 7424 XP and it looks great as a starter machine polisher. Not only that but getting the backing plates and interchangeable pads and such seems like a breeze. Now I've reccently discovered Griots Garage DA which I hear is much better despite questionable build quality. But my questions remained unanswered about GG's DA. Is it as user friendly as a PCXP? I haven't found much on whether or not its capable of burning paint etc. Does the machine slow down in speed and revolutions like the PC when too much pressure is applied? I mainly want to know how easy it is to use compared to PCXP, from what I've read, its nearly impossible to mess up with a PCXP which I like since I'm just starting out. Thanks!
the griots does come with the velcro bp by default which is a plus (its also interchangeable like the PC) I personally dont know if its clutched or not like the PC but from what i hear is that the Griots DA has more power and both being a DA are both fairly safe for starters. Warranty wise, Griot's seems to have a better warranty lol. Where bouts you located?
Is velcro is what is used on PC's backing plates too? And the warranty is a definite plus. But I'm just worried about the level of safety and user friendliness. I'm from Los Angeles, CA.
