Since day 1 I have been using Megs LT 1:1 as a clay lube. I often considered it one of my most useful products in the arsenal because its quick and easy etc. but I found that after claying with it, it does leave a tint bit of slickness and protection on the paint, which needs to be taken off using an IPA wipedown before taping or polishing. I found that tape will not stick to the finish if LT was used.

I need a very slick clay lube that leaves NO protection or added slickness to the finish. Will ONR at the proper dilution do the trick or is there a dedicated product out there that works better.

    Thanks

I think ONR at the max dilution would probably do the trick, or even if you diluted LT even more. Best way to find out is to try

ONR is formulated with polymers that 'leave' a shine even when diluted

You could try Meg's Quik Detailer, it has no shine. Not the ULTIMATE Quik Detailer, that has a shine.
I use that and DP 4'n1, mixed at clay lube ratio. Or Poorboys Spray & Wipe.

    What about soap and water?

Although not quite as slick as ONR, water with a wee bit of car wash soap added (as long as it's not the Majestic one with polymers) will do the trick.
edit: Reflect..I didn't see your post originally; sorry for the duplication.

why don't you just by lube for claying..like cg lubar or riccardo clay lube..even Americans can buy that..i also find using menzerna top inspection to be great at removing lite residue as it will remove wax..

Try some Bilt Hamber clay and use just plain water

I have to second this. The best clay/lube combo on the market!!

Well for the longest time I've been using just plain water as clay lube, but now I'm starting to use Riccardo Clay Lube. It works really good...but I'm wondering if it will do the same thing as Megs LT...I just started using Riccardo so I don't know if Riccardo will react the same as Megs LT.

Any who, I've been pleased with just plain water and sometimes I add a little bit of soap as it was previously mentioned...just my :2cents:

In the past I used Auto Magic's Body Shine which leaves no shine because it has IPA in it. However, after reading the article on how they sue small companies over their clay I have decided to boycott their products. Great slick QD for claying but just my personal choice not to support the company. so now I use optimum car wash and water

i don't have any issue using the riccardo clay lube.. i am telling you again go get a gallon or two of lubar from cg.. it works great.. i was never a fan of using just water..everytime i marred the paint when i tried which was twice and within 30 secs with two diff clays both marred.. i know bilt hamber can be used that way.. but i just don't understand why the need for half assing claying the car.. if you don't use the correct clay lube combo your NOT getting the most out of your clay..which is only going to add more time. to my knowledge cg lubar and riccardo lube leave nothing slick behind.. only the slick clean surface.. non a slick residue.

A nice mix of soap and water works well for me. Citrus Wash 'n Gloss will make your clay crumble over time, but DG 901 works a treat.
