A few of you may remember I had the chance to quote on the worst case of owner neglect I think I had ever seen. A client bought this F355 out of the US sight unseen as it was a great deal. OOPS. Where to begin. The first few pics are from 6 months ago when I first saw it. Present day. All jambs, inner fenders etc were cleaned with a new eco product I picked up at Home Depot. Did a bang up job. Washed with Poorboys Super Slick n'Suds Tires and brake calipers cleaned with the afore mentioned eco product. Wheels got a good once over with a mild acid cleaner. I wasn't really worried about doing any damage at this point. Owner has some new ones on order. As the client had decided to pare down his budget a bit, we decided on a single stage polish with wax. Thought I'd try something different today-Menz Power Finish!! LOL LSP today was BH Auto Balm as the car was yellow and the BH has proven to give unreal depth and wetness to dark colours. Tires were dressed with Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel Total time - 13 hours Looks a little better when it was dropped off this time Out came the canopy as it started to rain. Rust? On a Ferrari? Good god! Little wax residue Test area swirls After Before After After polishing passenger side 50/50 on hood Outside in the sun. No LSP yet. Todays choices. New Flex with Gloss-it 3" and 5" backing plates, 4", 5.25" and 6.5" orange LC CCs pads, Menz Power Finish, Gloss-it pad prime, Gloss-it Gloss Enhancer QD and BH Auto Balm with CCS applicator pad. Given what stuff on this car costs, EVERYTHING was carefully taped off. BH Auto Balm on. Hood got two coats and wheels got BH as well. This is what happens when you put wheels with the wrong offset on your Ferrari, lower it and don't revalve the shocks. Interior got a good vaccum, wipedown and the leather cleaned and conditioned. I just got some Cockpit Premium in from Pak Shak yesterday. Interesting product-higher alcohol content than a Vodka Martini!! Works great though. Seats got Raceglaze Leather Cleaner and Leather Balm. Thanks for looking.
Well done Ken, vehicle looks great :thumb: Just curious, what happened to the rust? Does the owner plan on replacing the panel?
beautiful work, Ken! what was your LSP on that paint? I don't think you mentioned it...or did I miss it?
Great job....that interior was UUUGGLLYYY..... when you use the Mnez power Gloss you use an orange LC CCS pad and nothing finer??? i always thought that pad would leave swirls/hallograms....i gotta try that...... If he was closer to here i would say i have a GREAT Body Shop to fix his fender....i cant believe someone would do that to a ferrari.....
I would have taken the owners money after the detail and THEN kicked him in the balls! But seriously that was a shameful lookinh F-car and now its looks good as new. Awesome job! EVP changes the way you polish doesnt it?
Given that he hasn't even fixed the fender yet, I doubt that panel will get replaced. Bilt Hamber Auto Balm. It was Power Finish, not Power Gloss. Its awesome. I actually used the Gloss Enhancer QD as well. I can't believe what a difference that makes to the shine. Holy crap!!
Wow... so many things wrong with that car before you got a hold of it. Who messes with an F-Car's suspension? IAnd not getting the proper offset wheel? Argh, just makes me mad. The 355 is one of my favorites. Looks superb in the after pictures, Ken! Great turnaround!
Such great work bringing this one back from the dead. Looks ten times better! What is with the shit wheels though? Ferrari wheels weren't good enough for the previous owner???
