Haven't seen this client in awhile. Car was in very good condition as the owner likes her stuff kept up so we were just doing a winter detail today. Basically a thorough wash and vac with two coats of protection For more info on products used, click on the highlighted product names. Engine, jambs and trim were cleaned with RG Brush Set and Optimum Power Clean(3:1) Engine was dressed with AG Vinyl and Rubber Care. Car was washed with 1Z Pearls and RG Washmitt as it was clearly evident there was NO lsp whatsoever on the paint. Inner fenders and tires were cleaned with Optimum Power Clean(2:1) while wheels were done with Sonax and AG CWC Paint was cleaned with Werkstat Prime on Green Buff and Shine pad via PC at speed 3 LSP today was Rejex. Hadn't tried it before but was impressed with the finish it left. Really made the flake pop. Wheels were sealed with Blackfire All Metal Sealant and tires were dressed with Poorboys Bold n'Bright Interior was cleaned with AG Interior Shampoo and all glass got AG Fast Glass Total time - 5 hours The Civic as it arrived The barrels were a wee bit dirty but because its a Civic and not a BMW, it wasn't a big issue. Jambs weren't too bad either Fuel filler area was dirtiest part of the car I think.... With the motor a close second. After one attempt with a citrus cleaner, a little staining remained I got out the Sonax and it cleaned right up The Sonax was unable to remove the little bit of staining behind the spoke. As well as a couple stains on the wheel face The wheels on the drivers side were done with AG CWC. As with the Sonax, a little bit of staining was left behind the spokes.. As well as the odd stain on the face. Paint was in very good shape for a two year old car as there was only VERY light swirling present Paint wasn't as bright as I would like so I went over it with Werkstat Prime to clean it up before applying the sealant. A lot of dirt came off on the pad. After two coats of Rejex Wheels got Blackfire All Metal Sealant and the tires got Poorboys Bold n'Bright. After shampooing, the engine was sprayed down with AG Vinyl and Rubber Care and allowed to dry. Thanks for looking.
I'm thinkin I should buy some of that Rejex, it looks good to me. I'm more worried about the longevity for the winter with salt, precipitation, mud, children who got in the way, etc. How's the easy on/off factor? If I can get the durability+ of 845 and get it locally, that would be great. Did you give Prime a go on the stains on the wheels? Looks great Ken.
The bottle claims 4 months per application. Goes on and off as easy as any other sealant. For me, I'm sticking with 2 coats of Colli or RG for my clients over the winter until I test the durability a bit more. Two winters ago we put two coats of 476 on a clients vehicle in October and it sat outside until March. We had to use STRAIGHT Powermax to strip it at that point. The stuff is bulletproof.
Ken..Happy Turkey Day by the way! Great job on the Civic. The metallic is just a jumpin! I love this shot, too. What lens and settings did you use? You are a lot better with your camera than I am with mine. Oh well.
