well my other hobby is making custom stuff for my car. honda is not "blessed" with great headlights from factory (except for S2000), so have to make my own to compensate. this particular project came from ppl saying that this projectors can not be fitted into my generation accord headlights so im out to prove them wrong. nobody else has this projectors on 7th gen accords. so im pretty much first one to have them. reason for this projectors is becouse they are widest beam projectors from OEM manufacturers (but i dont know how they are compared to LS460 or Nissan GT-R r35.) only bad part is couse they are not bixenon. here are the pics well started it today. used headlight that i was gona use for TL retro. for those who said it cant be done, here is proof that it can be. yes projectors been trimmed like no tomorrow but it works. video and wall shots later today short list. LS430 projectors TSX-R or FX-R lenses (have to figure out which once they are couse played with both and forgot wich i put in. color mod shrouds (not final version. might change or modify them more. wish i didnt cut them that much no, shroud doesnt block any reflector light, already checked. ok here is latest update so far. vertical adjustment will be figured out once left to right adjustment is done more cutting will be needed on top to fit top piece of projector that is responsible for side through
hope soon. ballasts went so have to find new once. my friend might give me his couse his bulbs went bad. for now only halogen output maybe tonight ehh, i would trade it for STI anyday
That looks like how it was suppose to look like from factory. bean counters cut the projectors off from productions. Good job on the retrofit
I'm sure you gonna love it after it's finished Misha. I know what you mean about stock Honda headlights not being too good. One of my headlight bulbs went bad on my Honda and it gave me the opportunity to upgrade to the Philips Extreme Power bulb and Wow what an improvement.
thats awesome mate i was once a member of hidplanet - i did the bend the shield trick on my E46 M3 bi-xenon projectors to get more colour on the cutoff re wide beam angle on the R35 - the R35 uses a psuedo reflector/projector to output that wide beam. Its a similar setup to the first 350z where the projector isnt sealed, but rather moved forward an inch. There is a reflector on either side thus some light exits out the sides before it goes through the projector. And this is how they create that super wide beam pattern actual light output on the road is less than the TSX because some light is escaping out the sides i was never happy with the oem headlights on my 350Z, the output was terrible. I switched them out for the 2006+ fully sealed bi-xenons and the output was much better. They had a fresnel lense so they'd light up street signs for miles and also overhead signs the GTR does the same, but again it does it by wrapping a reflector around the projector, so up against a wall there isnt a super clean cutoff, but rather these faint horizontal lines above the cutoff. They actually have alot of colour on the cutoff, prob the most ive seen from an oem setup. Street signs just above the cutoff appear purple, most likely because the xenon globe is seated further away from the projector than in sealed setups post some pics when its all done
that bottom reflector on ls430 is responsible for side output, projector for forward light. land rover projectors have pretty colorful purple cutoff, and some maximas, probably using hella set ups i might play iwth projector more to see if i can get more side beam. 50W ballast going to power those projectors with oem bulbs. thats the set up i have in foglights (55Wballasts with philips 85122+ bulbs. i have DL50 which i might use in ls430
Those ls430's are huge! Your work is looking pretty good so far. I'm really looking forward to the output pics.
