6" on a smaller backing plate?

Ok, im about ready to order some more Uber pads from phil, currently ive been using 5.5" is there any advantages/ disadvantages from using a larger pad on a 5.5" backing plate?

any experince with the surbuff pads with Menzerna products? any issues there? I have never used them before and they struck my curiosity while browsing DD.

 

6" pad on a 5.5" bp will be fine. I use 6.5" pads on a 5" bp as its great for following contours on hoods etc. FYI, Surbufs are designed for use with PCs only. Menz should work fine.
